1125r and 1125cr are incredible bikes that few know about. The market is soft on Buells but that just means you get a great deal on a one of a kind bike. The 1125’s have excellent hp and torque whereas the xb’s have great torque not great hp but for commuting in dense traffic it’s phenomenal. Your gone before they even pull out the hand to flip you off!! Lol

I didn’t like it for long rides but daily commute in traffic is incredible..600’s and liter bikes can’t keep up..my commute changed from bumper to bumper to a 25 to 30 mile commute mostly highway so I switched to sport touring Vfr1200f as my daily then switched that for a ZX14r ..the Buell would have been perfect for me now but I let it go..now I’m back to a short heavy traffic commute…but it’s still more comfy than any 600 or liter super sport for sure👍

+Terry Perreau yes I have when you do the upgrade I recommend you get the entire set up master cylinder/caliper don't remember if I had to use original brake line or not but they are different from xb series vs 1125/1190 series also the brake light switch connectors are slightly different so you'll have to either modify or cut and add two female butt connectors. There's a Harley dealer in St.Paul Minnesota with a parts guy named Lance that can both sell you everything you need and advise on the details he's an expert in Buell/Ebr stuff. The conversion cost me around $400. The aftermarket rotor I used was from Italy and also cost $400 but that is optional my original rotor was warped so I upgraded Thanks for watching and Good luck 👍

You know your not the first to ask this question. I used an old otter box belt clip that was broken and “zip tied” it to the head stock. To my amazement it works perfectly and cost nothing I was going to throw it away anyways because the clip part of the belt clip broke. Thanks for watching. Warren Salter great question I'll try to as honest as I can. Erik Buell said the xb series is a bike you can ride all day on the curves and not be as fatigued as other Sportbikes. I can say that is mostly true the riders triangle on the Firebolt is more comfortable than say a fireblade or a Ninja636 the handlebars are a little higher and rear sets are not as extreme the thin seat is way more comfortable than it should be. However this is definitely a touring bike that Goobles up highway miles in ease and comfort. I haven't riden too many bikes that I personally couldn't wait to get gas on just cruising down the highway without much action going on for long periods of time. The vibes at highway speeds aren't too bad it's more of a rumble than a tingle which irritates the Hell out of me on some inline fours. But the mirrors shake a bit on the highway so it's a little annoying maybe aftermarket mirrors would help but I like the bug antenna looks of the originals. The wind pushes most of your weight off the wrists so it ain't too bad. The fairing is small but effective. If your doing a lot of highway riding and you need more horsepower for passing you might want to get a liter bike though. It's got between 92-96hp but me personally would want more than that for highway work. I bought my vfr1200f 170hp for that. The XB9r is a tough reliable fun to ride bike and has a cult like following and gets more attention than any bike I've ever owned !!! ✌️😎👍

Warren Salter Buell's aren't for everyone it's a love it or hate it kinda bike. Do some research check out reviews ride one for more than 20 minutes if you can decide for yourself ✌️😎👍

It was the most reliable bike I ever owned! It was about the same as my Honda in other words zero problems… I had problems with both of my Harleys and my Suzuki but never the Buell

Paulk Master that new Energy One clutch pack is a beast.. i was out on it today and got too aggressive at a stop light and it came right up on me before i knew what happened... i got to re-learn my game. Go to harley and try some of that SAE60 they got, its cheap and its good..

S+S and Harley offer 883 to 1200 even 1250 conversions kits. These kits do not have New crankshaft assemblies instead only have cylinders(jugs), pistons , and gaskets. So how can the stroke be different without changing the crank to achieve 1200cc and even 1250cc’s?

I just confirmed 883 bore is 3inches stroke is 3.81. 1200 bore 3.5inches stroke is also 3.81inches Stroke is the same so I don’t know why redline would be different which I know was true on my Buell XB9r redline was 7500 like you said but I heard the XB12r was limited to 6800. I can see why you came to the stroke being different as the reason but it’s not actually true

Paulk Master Yeah I own a 12r but I did think it was interesting to learn that it isn’t a hoped up 883 but instead they tried to de bore a 1200 so the stroke and bore were close like many of the Japanese bikes with exactly the same bore x stroke

Never rode a 12r always wished I did! The torque on the 9r was enough to scare the shit out of my friend who test rode it he owned a Ninja 636. Came back hands shaking lol. Imagine if he tried the 12r!!!

It really depends. It has incredible torque I let a long time ninja 636 rider test ride it and he came back with his hands shaking lol. To me an R6 or any 600 super sport bikes are way more docile and easier to handle but that’s my opinion. This bike is raw and not smooth but is very rewarding in the tight stuff. If you like destroying traffic this is a go to. It really made me a way better more alert rider because I owned it. Any other bike since is a piece of cake except my ZX14r has challenged me since that awesome bike. Also gotta add no other bike ever got more thumbs up and conversations than that bike not even close and I have own a lot of awesome bikes. I added all this just in case your considering one

@@paulkmaster3231 yea there’s a 2003 up on marketplace I kind of want to check out but I’m brand new so.. I have a 900 can am ryker but I know it’s not the same as a bike so the torque I want but not so much the crazy top end

@@earthlyng_official4599 that’s exactly what the Buell firebolt is! It’s a torque monster and no top end rush to worry about. Your more likely to lift the front wheel at the light and the 1-2 shift than a power rush wheelie. So be careful taking off and slow speeds. Don’t power shift into 2nd till you are used to it. If you have ever ridden any pushrod Harley then the engine vibes at idle will feel normal at idle. The incredible increase in horsepower after idle is not the same however as the regular Harley pushrod motor. It gets hot on the right side from the exhaust so an exhaust wrap is mandatory there is a factory heat shield option they made for the ulysses that I heard fits perfectly on the firebolt as well but I never tried it. This bike gets a lot of attention and all the interesting engineering that Erik Buell put into it also makes it that much more interesting to own. Also Buells tend to be cheaper to buy then any other bike in its performance range. I would put it in a similar but better performance than a SV650 or a Ninja 650. It’s faster and way better suspension. But it’s not going to beat 600 supersports in the quarter mile but to 60 mph it feels like it does. I never lost against them and since 600 super sports have very little torque they can’t keep up in aggressive tight traffic. But that low torque on the 600 super sport makes it very easy and docile at low revs. It’s actually much less intimidating to a beginner to ride a 600 than the Buell. But if you want torque you’ll get it with the Buell that’s for sure. If you can get the XB12r that’s a knock out torque bike btw but lower revs to redline than the XB9r.
