Custom 2007 Buell XB9SX Tail chop and LED tail light.
The "cheese grator eliminator" was roughly cut by Randy Hawkins (who also made my Hawk Exhaust) for free and my Dad and I finished and polished it up. Randy is an awesome guy.
I used the Radiantz Integratorz Premium 1 foot LED kit that doubles as a running/break/blinker. The Integratorz come with 100 LEDs per foot so it looks crazy bright, almost looks like one solid light from just 10 feet away.
Radiantz actually made a custom kit that is identical to what I made! Buy it here: www.radiantz.com/en/products#!...

Thanks for the info! I saw those but I was not quite certain if they were what I needed. I will probably add those this summer. I have big plans for my bike :)

The LED strips are in a clear tube, which attaches to the bike with a 3M automotive adhesive tape.

Thanks! My dad has an 1125R so he has the same R tail, he really wants to do something like I did to get rid of the "bull nose" light. I think the R tail may have a harder time doing something like what I did. If you get it done, post it as a video response!

Looks 100% better....I have seen Urban Assaults pics and a couple others. I think I am slowly warming to the idea of Frankensteining my R with the Scg suspension and Scg Tail and cleaning up the rear with a variation on what you guys have done.....well done!

My Dad rode behind me for a while in day and at night, he said he can see the blinkers just fine. However, I would like to wire it in a way that the brake light for that side turns off while the blinker is on, which will help the blinker contrast better and improve visibility even more.

Sorry for the late response. I have never ridden on Firebolt, but I have ridden my Dad's 1125 for a short bit. His seat was pretty squishy compared to mine. I really want to get my seat redone by Baldwin, some memory foam and gel inserts :) Right now my seat kills my back and butt after an hour, so I have to take very frequent breaks between long rides.

sorry I missed your comment. I got 2 dual element circuits because I have 2 halves for my tail light. Although, it really depends on how you wire it. You could probably use one, then split the wires afterward, I didn't do the voltage and current calculations so I can't say how differently the lights will work.

Absolutely and your welcome. I was actually thinking of swapping the R tail for the lighting low so it might be a neater fit. I have never ridden an S though, do you find it more comfortable than the R(strictly saddle wise)? I have been doing a lot of long hauls lately and the R seat tends to start biting back after 150 miles or so...anyhoot still looking good second time watching the vid!!

Does the led have an adhesive backing? How did you mount it?
@Blaylock1988
@Blaylock1988 7 жыл бұрын
It does have a 3M adhesive back, it was strong enough to hold it on the bike for years even with that heavy bend. I did use a heat gun to help it flex and adhere easier though because it is a 3D curve.

It was a 1 foot, 100 LED strip, and I think I had a 6 LED piece left over, so I think 96 LEDs are on the tail.

Love this and actually bought the specific kit from Ray at Radiantz. I know you used two dual element circuits, the kit only came with one. I'm trying to sort out if i need another or if you can tie the R/L signal wires into one going to the single circuit? I may just be dumb but not sure that would then turn the signals into hazards haha.Just curious how you wired up the circuit or where to go with the single circuit
@Blaylock1988
@Blaylock1988 6 жыл бұрын
I sold the bike a few years ago so I can't go check for you. I don't remember if I used 2 dual element circuits. I would think you can just split the single wire output from the dual element to power the red in parallel for both sides. If you wanted to have the red turn off when the amber came on then you might need 2 of them, but then you'd need some other stuff as well.
