What a fitting tribute. My junior high school principal, Mr. Clark (or Clarke) had been a black NCO in the 10th US Cavalry at Camp Lockett, Campo, CA. How I now regret not spending every afternoon taking notes and learning from him. Thank you for preserving their history.

Yes, Judge Joe Hosted the show and Barry Corbin narrated it. The Judge is also very knowledgeable in American History and could seriously write a book. On top of that, he is just a great man to work with.

Go look at Gaza and the attrocities america are sponswering..... its the colonisation of the native american indians all over again but with far more deadly weapons, and the people of Gaza dont even have bows and arrows to defend themselves with against the very latest tanks, war planes and attack helicopters that are constantly used against them........ Thank the u.s for that, and any other world help that is offered in the united nations by other countries is automatically blocked by ballot by the united states of america...... Is it any wonder that the "u.s" is one of the worlds most hated countries world wide for all the attrocities they sponsor against a civilian population that has : No tanks No drones No battleships No airforce No army worth speaking about... No navy No nothing military except rockets made from rainwater pipes like fireworks that have no explosive inside them...... they are just fireworks effectively and are used in protest against the thousands of children that are bombed by american weapons sponsored by america itself americans might as well just give them the weapons to kill the Gazan people because a group of migrant gypsies desire beachfront property for free........ and they continue to bulldoze people out of their homes, all sponsored by america........ all complaints in the united nations blocked by america..... THERE IS AN AFTERLIFE, AND THOSE THAT PAY FOR THE SUFFERING OF OTHERS WILL BURN ETERNALLY IN HELL.......... THAT TRULY WILL BE THE "aMERICAN DREAM"......

The Buffalo Soldiers are a great part of US Army history. The Army had black troopers post Civil War but really didn't want them. Military necessity saw them posted in the West and they proved themselves. The Army was reduced in size and had a much reduced budget.

The story is undermined by the usual mistakes. Judge Joe Brown is a great judge who should been have appointed to the US Supreme Court by Obama. His hat has an officers' cord. When an officer removed his coat he could be mistaken for an E-1.The 12:22)The Congressional Medal of Honor is a civilian award created around 1960. 14:15) Two First Sergeants. 14:39) A few .44 caliber 1858 Remington New Model Army. A few .44 1858 Colts, AKA the 1860 Army Model. 1859 Colt patent for a shoulder stock. 19:28) Daytime and the bugler is playing reveille ? 21:40)LT Colonel(O-5) G.A. Custer was not demoted. He was a Brevet Major General, Officer Pay Grade O-4. After Appomattox, his militia cavalry division was disbanded and he left a major.Brevet rank became more of a honorary title from April 1865. His Brevet Major General shoulder straps would only be worn on formal military gatherings. Same for all other brevet officers. Brevet O-7s & O-8s all had branch of service stripes on the pants legs. Commissioned Flag Officers had none. Look at the pictures. 31:35)He is holding a .45 1873 Colt Cavalry Model with a 7.5 inch barrel. The .45 1873 Sheriffs' Model P(eacemaker) was 4.75 inches to 5.5 inches. Sgt. Stance was said to have 10 privates with him. Back then there was only 4 to a platoon + 4 corporals and 32 troopers. 32:07) The books that I have read state that H.O. Flipper was Class of 1881. The correct shoulder straps were shown. At the time, First LieuTenants wore the "butterbar". 36:55) Militia units could decide what uniforms to be worn. They picked what equipment was used. The Infantry unit's boots here are from either the 7th New York National Guard Regiment(The first and only one until 1863) or the 2nd Miss. Militia Infantry Regiment. They both wore gray uniforms with black leg, rank and cuff stripes. The officers shoulder straps had black centers instead of light blue. 39:50) When the Rough Riders reached San Juan Hill, the 10th was there. They were playing dodge ball with a few 75mm French guns and maybe some 37mm Hotchkiss Gatlin style artillery. Colonel Roosevelt gave their Officer Commanding (OC), a LT Col. a choice of coming along or to get out of his way.

While its easy to say, "well, the white soldiers had to endure the same elements, the searching for and fighting the indians, as the colored troops", the white troops did not experience thebigotry of not only the white civilians, but also their white comrades-in-arms. In fact, the white soldiers often showed more tolerance of the indians, their enemies, than their colored comrades. Even the Army discriminated against them; often the colored troops were poorly equipped, issued out-dated weapons, such as cap-and-ball revolvers, and the Spencer carbine, rather than the M73 Colt revolver and the M73 Springfield rifle/carbine. In spite of this, the all-colored regiments performed splendidly, even when commanded by less-enthusiastic officers. The 9th and 10th Cavalry regiments, earned reputations as units who never backed down, and Gen John J. Pershing earned his nickname "Blackjack" as a successful commander of the 10th. He later was named Commandr of the AEF during ww1. I'm proud of the service of our "colored" troops service and success especially on th American frontier.

We're talking about a cou try that has no benefits system here..... I think america has some kind of state handouts to those people that are disadvantaged and unemployed in life.... state welfare?...... put a claim in and stop moaning..... knock on doors and ask friends and family for work..... you cant find work?... learn a trade and become self employed, but adverts in local shops and see what replies you get....... specify CASH for no tax when charging customers, and dont pay the federal tax as that money goes to israhell to kill more Palestinians........
