Staggs are all amazing and there is a reason why they are so popular! I love my staggs and hopefully I'll find all the batches for 2024 😆. I haven't tried the 22b batch but the 23c and 22a are amazing! I'm still thinking of an idea on the 2k subscribers special 😎. Hey Don! It is so sad to see the EH Single Barrel basically be non-existent (at msrp or close). It is a great bottle but even if it was available all the time, I would probably still buy the John J Bowman single barrel as it does offer a darker, sweeter profile I often want late at night 😆. It is not easy here in California. But both are wonderful pours and let's hope the allocation gets better for both in 2024 😆. That JJB Single Barrel is a good one and can certainly compete with the EH Taylor Small Batch and some Single Barrels. Obviously Barrel Proof is in another level, but never had the A Smith Bowman CS so I'll take your word that it is a phenomenal pour 😆. Have a nice cool day and cheers~

The meaning of "value" or "worth" is different for everybody and their situation or preferences. My perceived value is based on the fact I hunt 3 days a week for bottles and like to try new whiskeys, so buying at msrp or close to it is a big priority of mine as I need a vast "collection" to make videos as well 😆. But if you enjoy Stagg and don't have time, money, or the energy to hunt and look for it at msrp, paying $200 for a bottle You know you'll absolutely love and enjoy is a valuable asset 😁. When people say "you can't buy happiness" has never tried a Stagg (or BTAC) as those things make me happy 😂. So don't worry about what I or any other youtuber says to a certain degree. Here in OC, Bowman SiB is not easy to find, but there are drops (seems like once per quarter) and it's available for like a week in many stores for MSRP... then it's just gone for another 3 months. I guess it doesn't go to North LA. I'll let you know if I find one. The Bowman is a different mash bill from Blanton's: Bowman is Mash Bill #1, Blanton's is Mash Bill #2.

Hey Kenneth! The reason I compared it to EH Taylor instead of blanton's as I know for sure it is a better "pour" than Blanton's. Obviously there are other factors like the bottle, collectability, style, etc. That is in favor of blanton's, the JJB single barrel is the bottle to get as it is cheaper and experience is better. Not saying blanton's is a bad pour or anything (I actually like it) but the price increase and allocation makes it a tough buy. Thanks a ton for your view and comment so soon after video launch! Hey Arn! I've had two EH Taylor Single Barrel store picks... and they are amazing, much better than just the regular EHT single barrels. If the Bowman SiB was put against the EH Taylor Single Barrel picks I had in the past.... I'm sure the results would have been different, but factoring in how hard it is to find a EHT SiB, let alone the store pick, it would be close. Hey Harry! So from what I know or hear, Bowman has a "contract distilling" with Buffalo Trace, where they use Buffalo Trace mash bill to what Bowman wants, distills it twice, and is distilled again at Bowman in their copper still. So Bowman can say it is "their" mash bill, but from all the information I can gather, it is basically Buffalo Trace mash bill #1 (could be #2 but more sources say #1) that is contract distilled and earmarked for Bowman. Again, things could have changed and maybe they use another mash bill but I haven't picked up any information that is has changed. I guess we'll never know for sure 😆. @@WhiskeyBank I'm in WA but buy 90% in OR because no sales tax, plus WA also adds this mind blowing liquor tax. I'm coming down to Simi Valley soon to do some hunting but won't be able to take much back, maybe only 2-3 bottles.
