Hi, how do you know when you've put the CO2 in properly? I tried and it made a hissing sound, so then I assumed it work. But I saw from the instructions that we have to take it out and we can't leave it in for 24 hours or it'll damage the gun. But I take out a couple of bugs and that's all I need. I remove the CO2 and it sounds like I'm losing all the gas. I don't want to lose out on so much CO2 for only 2 bugs per time. Thanks for any info! I didn't hear the hissing from your side when you plugged the CO2.

Hello. As long as you put it in straight and slowly twist to snug it, you should be fine. To avoid the "hissing sound", right before you are about to puncture the seal, you want to give it a quick twist/turn as you tighten. It will minimize air loss. I think many would agree to not leave the CO2 in for more than 24 hours; saying it will damage the seal. They say wasting a CO2 cartridge is cheaper than having to replace the damage seal or gun. Supposedly one CO2 cartridge can shoot about 60 shots with the last 10 shots or so are pretty weak. We know the ammo uses special salt cartridge that are not easily refillable and they are not cheap. I feel it is a waste if I don't take that many shots in a day. Personally, I have left mine in for more than 24 hours and its fine. Of course do it at your own risk. 😉 I do also use Crosman Pellgunoil with each insertion of the CO2 cartridge to help seal/maintain the seal/gun. I used to leave my CO2 cartridges in for days at a time with no problem of course I had a Gamo ppk pro . bug a salt makes a reliable also so I see no worries leaving a co2 canister in for a while.

The base mechanism looks very similar to my Crosman Vigilante. Other channels have explored swapping parts between the Vigilante and the Shred-er and appears to work. I have found that the CO2 cartridge will dissipate over time (maybe a week?) if you leave it in. So I leave the grips off and leave a full cartidge in but don't screw it in until right before I need it (mice).

Nah, your best course of action is using a Smith & Wesson 500 Magnum. It’s what I use for my wasps!

🙃 but still...be cautious. Usually the first shot should killed them. If not killed, then it will disabled them because the salt will "shred" (see what I did there? lol) through their wings. I notice most of the time, they won't be able to fly afterward. Also when the CO2 is low, the blast isn't as powerful. So do make sure you have a fairly new CO2 before going to war with wasps.

The Crosman vigilante is the same gun but half the price. It also has a rifled barrel so it’ll shoot pellets as well.

Are you asking if this gun is a single action or double action or when I shot the wasp? This gun can do SA and DA but I recall when I shot the wasp, I used the SA on it. Hope that helps.

If it's like the Vigilante then it's DA/SA but the trigger pull is much lighter and shorter when you cock the hammer first for SA
