I have this amp and find it to be the best value in low watt tube amps. Not only a great bang for your buck, but price aside, I dig this amp. With or without pedals, for what I play (just about everything but metal), it really shines as a bedroom amp, recording amp or a small venue club amp.

Great amp. I have it myself. Takes pedals extremely well too! I found best results using it as a head into a 12" speaker cabinet.

Yes, i have it for one year now and i will never sell it. Some time ago i bought a marshall code 100, and i go now modify the marshall so it can takes other amps using the 2x12 speakers in it without using the marshall amp part, so i am wondering how a Bugara v5 sounds through the code speakers.

@einaroneeye Remember that 5 watts is about equivalent to a trumpet being blasted. It is enough to get you punted from an apartment. Attenuating 5 watts is a great idea to get some grunt out of that little thing.

@Acidrain1993 thanks a ton man. yes, you answered my question pretty well. and thanks for being so nice about it. i'm kinda sick of people who think they're badass with their bad grammar and insults laced through their comments. nice to see the change from that. again, thanks a bunch.

Have one. Recommend upgrading the speaker to the Eminence 820H. I understand the the Infinium has a better stock speaker, but for the original V5, I can attest that the 820H was a worthwhile upgrade to warm it up and make it sound a bit less boxy. I'm not sure if there was a downside on speaker break up.

Please do a review of the Bugera V-55 Combo Amp. How are Bugera's speakers? I know they make them in house but I've always heard you need to upgrade them to make the amp really shine.

@Ningirsutyr The whole idea of an amp like this is keeping it small and simple. A full T/M/B EQ would make it bigger and more complicated... and there is a headphone jack on the back.
@einaroneeye13 жыл бұрын
The attenuator is a pretty cool feature, however I am not totally sure I see the necessity on such a small combo amp. I could certainly see where it would be great on a 50 or 100w amp...
@poplepo313 жыл бұрын
@seankenny08 are you saying that 5 watts would be to powerful?
@qi5bz10 жыл бұрын
First of all thanks for great reviews, however I think you should try to demo this thing with lespaul, can pull out some nice ring and bluesy dirt ring on mids kinda Jimmy Reed-ish. For telle or strat I find best thing is V55 from bugeras small series as it has this twang and thump, especially with GT12 AX7 Russian tube in 2 or 3rd position. However this Bugger'as rattles as crazy out of the box, at leas mine V5, so build quality is kinda concern as the support too as one tube was microphonic ant bugera preomissed to send replacement, nearly 3 weeks ago, and so far nothing happened...

In a sub-$300 price point, this isn't bad. I still prefer the Marshall Class A ($399) or the Vox AC30VR ($599), but YMMV. The only real question is durability. Do Bugeras hold up to heavy use? I have no experience with them, so that's why I'm asking.

@ZepIV Maybe it's just me but having a TMB EQ is not an option but a must for me on any amp to be able to tailor the tone according to the situation. So I believe that I wouldn't have any problem with such complication ;/ I just don't like the "take it or leave it" attitude whichever company that might be..
@Phishboy2613 жыл бұрын
I have the V5's bigger brother the V22 and im not going to compare Bugera with Matchless, Soldano, Marshall, Mesa Boogie, or another company. All ive ever wanted in an amp is one that my guitar will shine through and the V22 makes my Guitar wail even at Bedroom level. I even use my Line 6 HD500 as a pre-amp making any amp on there sound great plus you can have a makeshift Roland JC120 by adding chorus. Dont mistake Bugera for something that its not. Sure its not a $1200 amp but it does the job
@TheMetalHeaD25613 жыл бұрын
hey guys. i don't really know much about tube amps. i always use solid state amps but my dad has a Marshall JVM tube amp that sounds freaking awesome. i'm thinking about getting into tube amps. but i notice... the ratings on wattage HAVE to be different between tube amps and solid state amps. cause NOBODY buys a 15 watt amp for gigs (referring to an Ibanez head). so what is the sort of ratio of wattage between tube amps and solid state? or does it vary? sorry i probably sound like a total noob
@TomPark19867 жыл бұрын
01:06 that is the best tone you will get out of this amp.
@Bigsquatch_ky12 жыл бұрын
Its a decent little dirt box, I think it mostly gets its bad reputation from noobs using it with solid state shit like a Marshall MG or L6 Spider. Now a modded DS-1, those are lovely.

shouldn't you show the Bugera amp when you're playing, instead of you playing a Charvel guitar, and some road cases, since that is the subject here?

Sounds like authentic spring reverb? Noooo! I've got the amp and to get an almost authentic spring reverb sound I had to buy an Oceans 11 pedal. The reverb in the amp is comparable with the Skysurfer pedal, not very spring like. It's a shame Paul isn't honest in his demonstration. I can't imagine he's never heard a real spring reverb. And yes I know the difference between a built in spring tank and a separate spring reverb like from Fender.

Even if it's a 5W amp, I don't get the point of not putting any EQ knobs on an amp :/ Besides, when it's already only 5W they could have saved themselves from a big hassle by putting a headphone jack instead of an attenuator..
