CHI3FMOJO Those cars did come with a tow package, I think it can tow about 4500 lbs, but that is a car you don't want to tow in overdrive

Thanks for the comments, 5000 Ibs to be exact and thats mainly due to the gearing in the rear end (same housing as rear end used in pickup and the only thing that makes it a car is the body and suspension. The transmission in 86 would be the 700r4 and in my year the 4L60E which is the exact transmission in the 1/2 ton Chevy pickups and several other models using the 350 V8 also in any veh towing you do not want to use overdrive, even in a diesel.

Rhett Wolfensberger I think that it has a 700R4, which is Hydrolic Controlled shifts, not Electric control like 4l60e. I think it also doesn't have a locking torque converter, but not sure on that

Rhett Wolfensberger I'm not sure about the frame, it might be. My father had an 86 Caprice until I was around 9. Always liked them caprices, but I also like the 94-96 with lt1 setup

I built mine for about 100 bucks, Makeing them and selling them would be hard for me because i would have to fit each one to my car to ensure they would fit yours, I could provide a template for the side plates though, thats all you really need, the rest is pretty simple as you can see in the video

Nope they don't, i went to several locations, all said they couldn't and wouldn't. They only would do the smaller hitch which is still produced

You could also search around a salvage yard, but take great care when using salvaged parts (even a highly trusted specialist may not know the condition or age of the mentioned parts).
