Hey! Thank you so much! Well, windows, even with better u-values aren’t considered great insulators. I didn’t show it, I should have, but I did add spray foam around the window for a good air sealer too. Hope that helps. 🙏👍

I always wondered why windows were so expensive. I had assumed it was to do with the custom glass cutting. But it seems that is not the case.

Right. I think because I was willing to frame the window, it did probably cut cost down for me. But it’s totally possible. 🙏👍

I wish I could do my own windows but where I’m at you have to have dual pane argon filled to pass inspection.

Very cool! Only limitation is that I guess you wouldn’t be able to do double pane windows ? But maybe not that big a deal in TX.

Thank you! I spent a lot of nights thinking about double pane, triple pane, argon, u-value, longevity, etc.. lol. But so far so good. 🙏👍

I haven’t had a problem with the heat. There is a lot insulation around window. 🙏👍

who wouldnt at least try to build thier own windows after a 60k quote. and if it didnt turn out right...... just put some shutters and curtains on it. at least youve saved 58k in cash.
