Really really love this project…thinking about putting a stop and limit switch w a battery at the bottom. You then hook it to the wires and use it to drive spark leds and a boom speaker in the dynamite box. Then all you need is a big sign say ‘don’t press!’ And wait for the fireworks.

Exactly! The box is built so robust to take some abuse as I was sure it would be a really fun interaction prop! The changes needed to make it have a switch should be super easy as well! Glad you found my channel and thanks for watching 😀

Thanks Jason! I am a graphic designer by trade so being able to bring more of that part of me into my builds is always fun. It's also something that is hard to find and replicate sometimes so I'm happy to offer it to people who have a similar mindset but sometimes lack the ability/time to create them themselves. I'm currently working on some old whiskey/beer bottle labels as they will always have a home in almost any scene! Thanks for watching :)

Are you in Alberta? Great prop! I aim to make one with a dynamo that actually works. This is a great start!

Hey @mistersable Yes, I am in Alberta and I saw you pick up the prop dynamite machine plans from my website and saw the organization and was totally enamoured with the whole concept of it! What a great and fun idea, gives me a ton of ideas for props to make that I am sure would be a hit with it. The dynamite box is pretty authentic as I used an actual antique to base the design around. You may also have seen the dynamite prop, and my EVA foam barrel, what is really neat is the fake company I created that labels all three is the "Coulee Blasting Company" as I wanted all the pieces to a cohesive look and feel when used together! Regardless, thanks for commenting and I hope the plunger plans helps you get the prop that will fit in with your awesome group!

@@SamhainPropworks I have some wine boxes with dovetail joins that I'm going to use for my dynamite plunger. I'm goin to use a dynamo flashlight and maybe print a rack and pinion gear to actually set off the 'fireworks'. I'm guessing perhaps that you're living near Drumheller? Anyway, we should meet one day! You are inspiring AF!!! Thanks for being you!!

Samhain, you're so brilliant at making such realistic props! As I look in my wallet in preparation for this week's trip, I'm noticing a lack of a certain partially transparent polymer.😉Any tips on how I can make a bunch of that!??🤣

Deal! I shall now make some prop fake money! Just need to come up with a fun design and then I'll hide a bit of fun in the bills! I'm pretty sure they won't buy anything, but might be a fun printable to add to all your awesome and crazy scenes! Thanks for your support Fraidy!

Thanks for the idea. I whipped mine up in a day and added a contact switch in it. It now runs a light display for Christmas on Candy Cane Lane in Edmonton. I noticed the label says Nowhere, Alberta - Is that a coincidence or do you live in Ab too?

Not a coincidence at all, I live in the Lethbridge area and I sneak prairie references in all over the place. I’m happy the build went well and I’d love to see the end result! What a great idea for making it into a light switch, it can take the abuse to say the least! Thanks for watching!

I'd love to have info for building. Dynamite box with Dynamite.. plunger. Plus a part of a rail track. With mine cart and that 2 person up and down handle cart that goes on the track? And just the opening of a mine shaft. Be very cool

Oh gosh, I forgot the template file! I'll fix that right away! Your very close with what I am contemplating for one of my next videos (I'm still working out the build it my head) I think it will be quite the scene you can create when I'm all finished! Thanks for watching John :)

I'm the only person who shares build information with notes on his hand, when I was editing it I laughed as I saw it. I'm sure that you are just as bad as me, as if I write it down on ANYTHING else, I lose it, the wind blows it away, it's never where you need it! Your hand is the perfect notepad. Thanks for watching Brother :)

What program did you use to create the lettering and graphics on the dynamite labels and box? I want to create labels for WWII dynamite labels: US and German.

I did my work in Affinity Photo by a company called Serif @AffinityPhotoOfficial. It's a great alternative to the Adobe suite of products with a much gentler entry point. Hope that helps and thanks for watching :)

How do you do the screening on the label material?

I'm not sure what you are asking Gary. Are you talking about the weathering, that was all done in my photo program, mainly a grunge layer on my clean design :)
