And by the way he is absolutely right about training delts this way. Natty or Not this workout is effective. If you think you need roids to put on muscle than you are the one with the problem. You lack the fucking balls to go hard in the gym and then come on youtube talking shit? Your the fake one giving false hope and ideas . wake up

Hi Luis. I used to train really heavy....but inevitably I would always end up injured. The funny thing is I've found that I get better results training the way I train now - with less brute force and more technique. Make no mistake about it though - this still feels heavy - you're just isolating the muscle more, without as much assistance from other muscles, so it still feels heavy. You're making that targeted muscle work harder on its own. So to answer your question, every once in awhile when I get around some of my friends, the ego comes out and I ended up breaking my discipline and train heavy with less than desirable technique.

James I’m a 58 year old man who’s been lifting on and off all my life . For about 2 months I’ve been following your 20, 10, 10, 15 reps per set and leg work out which is a little different. I can see development in all muscle groups and a loss in body fat that has me ecstatic since light weight high reps burns more body fat and calories. I watch your videos before each work out to make sure I don’t forget anything before I do it. Love the light weight leaving your ego at the gym door bud. From my position in life, you can take a 58 Chevy, put a new interior, new motor, rear, tranny, wheels and so on but the reality with me is the frame is still old, so why stress it? Thank you for making these videos . Wish I had such advice when I was a young man but better late than never and it’s working for me 👍

Hey James, isn't doing a single arm to double arm super set not the greatest idea for shoulders ? Because after you finish your side laterals for your left shoulder on the cable you're immediately going to side laterals again with your left shoulder while the whole time your right shoulder has been at rest.
@SteelBlueVision

Interesting. Can you say how much of that growth was due to swelling or 'pump' rather than muscle hypertrophy?
@comment_deleted
@comment_deleted 7 жыл бұрын
Well, I'd say all of it was due to growth. The swelling or "pump" in my shoulders only lasts for about 5 mins tops after a workout. I work them 2x a week and every 6th workout I take a week off. Even at the end of a rest week I can see progress in my anterior delts. My shoulders are finally growing.

@JamesGrage
@JamesGrage 8 жыл бұрын
Hey Michael. I go up when that weight is no longer a challenge at those rep ranges. As you get stronger, you'll naturally need to progress to heavier weights to keep challenging the muscle and forcing adaption. As long as you are always pushing yourself to that limit of what you can do (using good technique of course) the concept of "progressive overload" becomes very straightforward.

OMG, I am so grateful to find ur channel. Ur training techniques r amazingly simple old-school hacks. Whan you pointed out all the wrong ways of lifting, I confess, did & do! Maybe that's why I have touchy shoulders, knees, low back, hips, etc!!!!! Wish I met you 10 years ago!! I'm never too late to stay open minded & learn the right way to be my best, @ 47, I'll never stop! Love how you talk about mind-muscle connection & the importance of strict form & targeting the muscle! Thanku, xo

Gave this a go today. Man i saw its impact right away. Usualy have to work much harder to see and feel the same results. Saved me from my stupid routine which left my shoulder hurting deep. Also great point about anterior delts. I feel them working in allot of other workouts so its redundant to work them in, and leaves them healthier for chest day. Thanks again to my new coach.

I have watched and studied your workouts (and I've been through all of them at least twice), and I wish you would consider putting together workout and supplement videos for people say 65 and older. I think your training regimen is perfect for people my age who after a lifetime of bad form etc. just can't lift big weights any more without really hurting, or never could. I think it's an untapped market for supplement sales as well.

Love this series, I think he could totally rival Athlean- X. I like both channels because I'm a HUGE visual learner. However, your use of computer animations to show the movement of the muscles and the detail you go into on top of that gives you an edge in my opinion. Keep it up bro, I just binged watched this whole series haha.

I decided to try this out. On the first go at it, great results! BURN, too, and definitely causes a sweat. I've been doing it now for about 3 weeks and I'm already seeing a significant gain in my shoulders (which has always been difficult for me). Thanks James!

I've just watched 6 videos of yours, and I must say I'm very impressed with the excellent quality of content you are giving us. I realize you do not have a video on building a wider back? I hope you make a video informing us on that very soon. Keep up the excellent job! I've also agreed from a previous video of yours do not let your ego get in the way by lifting heavy weights with improper form. I've done that recently, and now I'm suffering the consequence in being out of the gym for 2 weeks, I strained my lower back pretty bad in performing t-bar rows. I hope a workout program is coming out soon I definitely would pay money for that because I can tell it will be worth it based on your previous videos I've watched so far. You clearly know what you're doing, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

I'm a 1st timer on this channel. I am now a subscriber!! I see why you are The Muscle Geek. Everything makes sense, especially using the plates to do upright rows. Thanks for letting me know why I don't like to sit when doing dumbbell presses. I will be training from the rear to the front from now on.

Did this workout at the gym last night,and for the first time,there were veins popping all over my delts. Shoulders sore as hell today,but it feels great.Only using 35lb dumbells for shoulder press,but nice and controlled.Two big overweight dudes on next bench,spotting each other using 70lb dumbells for 4 or five reps with shakey arms.All they got was a bright red face !

I agree with him, using lighter weight for my shoulders pumps insane blood into them and I see much more gains versus using heavier weight where I don't feel the same engagement. Lighter weights people and don't forget that mind muscle connection!

Been doing this for 11-12 weeks and I got great results, and the mental processes have improved to other body parts and I am getting better results there too. Thanks for sharing this, it has made a big difference for me. Nothing motivates you more than results.

Absolutely the best shoulder workout I've ever done. I love the lightweight aspect and the intense burn that I still get from it. As a 50-year-old one of my co-workers in passing had to do a double take and asked.... What are you doing, living at the gym? I said bro, I've never lifted more than 15 lb yet on my shoulder workout lol

This workout is indeed humbling. Going from rear to front is even more humbling. My shoulders were in failure mode very fast. Mentally at the gym you have to really check your ego. Go light, find your weights. Progress over time and you will grow pretty dam quick. Isolation method is just plain killer. And for me it helped fix an injury in my shoulder from years ago, by strengthening and staying in perfect form.

Mate I love this style of training.i have been training for 20years now and after trying these routines this week,I can definitely say I love the moves,and I love the rep ranges.its spot on.in the past I've tried a few other you tube training routines or online etc to break the routine,and I've always had to do more at the end or just bin it off and walk away.i not only like this,I will stick to using it for the foreseeable future.it totally clicks for me,it's been a long time since my arms were this ragged.its nice to know I've found a plan that works that's explained properly down to the smallest detail scientifically,and demonstrated properly to assure it's understood.mate honestly I've been at this along time myself and it's refreshing to see someone like yourself who's passionate enough to go all out,and not just list a load of exercises that everyone does anyway.and from a personal point of view,thank you because you have just saved my training this week.was getting frustrated with nothing new.but this has got me right back on my game.that rep range as well....pure brilliance mate.encourage anyone to follow this plan.no bullshit,no selling shit with 'one sip of this shake will get you huge'. It's pure,educational,directional teaching from a guy who not only knows his shit,but is passionate enough to want to share that with others.massive respect mate.cheers
