Vanos does not do that much travel. But yes that is the correct way to do it. I actually test them with air and there is a bmw spec that you can measure vanos travel off ✌️✌️✌️

what was the final torque u ran? u say 80-85 but i have the same setup as you (arp2000 w/ stock elring)
