*About the kit
This kit is R60/5, but the instruction manual was R75/5, so when I compared it with the same Heller R75/5 engine, I found that it was exactly the same.
I think that the R75 engine mold was used for this model.
*About making this model
It was a very difficult kit to build.
The instruction manual is for the R75, and the unfriendly instruction manual in French makes not easy even if I look at the design.
I assembled it based on the Japanese version of the Tommy R75 manual, which was a Japanese distributor, so I decided to assemble the same parts as the R75 and change it to a cafe racer type.
*Production point
bolts
I replace All bolts with suspicious shapes were with hexagonal plastic bars, brass pipes, and WAVE bolt sets.
such as arms and rods
I added details to most of the parts, and rods are made of metal wires because those deteriorate over time or break with paint.
seat
Since it is a cafe racer, I made it single.
Made with epoxy putty.
I had a little trouble fitting the seat frame to the seat rails.
Fuel tank
Since the part of the knee pad is opened, I closed it.
I used lacquer putty, but for larger areas, I recommend using polyester putty or epoxy putty.
I made a BELL decal and pasted it.
Since it is a laser printer, it can be weathered by rubbing it.
And Work less Ride more, I long for that kind of life.
wheel
I assembled the wheel using a jig.
At first glance, it seems adventurous, but when I tried it, I found that it was faster to use a jig.
rear suspension
I stopped using the kit suspention, and remade it using plastic pipes, plastic sticks, and nickel silver wire.
*Decal
Fine mold white base for laser printers.
For some reason, HiQ Parts does not have a white base for laser printers.
I feel that the decal thickness of Fine mold is about twice as thick, but the hiding power of white is stronger than that of HiQ parts.
This time, I wanted to make it look like a sticker was put on the tank, so I was able to create a realistic thickness.
*Painting
The frame was painted metallic blue on a black background.
The color of the tank and seat that I was worried about is a mixture of RLM light blue and silver.
The engine is champagne gold, and the dynamo cover is darker.
Weathering was applied to the engine, and the frame and tank were kept to a minimum to make them inconspicuous even with the weathering.
I made it monotone with dark blue and dull blue overall and black undercarriage, but if you think it's cool, it's a success.
*Impressions after completion
The 1/8 scale motorcycle has a strong presence.
Next, I've been itching to make a surfer's rusty motorcycle.
