Hi, a month ago I almost died in a very serious bicycle accident (carbon fiber fork broke suddenly and I face planted the pavement). Ride safely man. I had three fractured vertebrae in my neck that nearly paralyzed me or almost caused vertebral artery dissection (stroke). I had sudden deceleration diffuse axonal brain trauma. I also had a zygomaticomaxillary complex fracture of my facial bones and left orbital proptosis with extraconal hematoma. I even had a left internal carotid artery pseudoaneuryism with almost turned me into a comatose vegetable, thank goodness it was inoperable and spontaneously healed by itself I am very fortunate. Use caution.

I am glad to have seen this video. I was temped to put a 80cc 2 stroke engine on my stretched beach cruiser. I had a friend stretch my cruiser 8 inches, it all made up with the thin bicycle tubing. I am just going to stick with pedaling it or put a 500 watt rear hub motor on in, just to get me up the hills. Thank you for your video, it just saved my life.

I got two of them an had no problem an it has a 212cc yes I did had it over 2 year an yes you have to modified the bottom pipe frame an am 237 pounds if you decide to weld use a tig welder no stick welder you can only use stick welder on the firmstrong skrech beach cruiser

YOUR RIGHT! I had a Walmart beach cruiser that I put a 49cc kit on it. At least every month I had to weld and reweld due to frame cracks! It kept reoccurring to the point I almost boxed up the entire seat post area!

In addition to the added weight from the engine, you'd also have a fair amount of vibration since vertical single cylinder engines aren't exactly smooth running. I wonder if one of those Chinese horizontal cylinder pit bike motors would be a better choice?

Hey glen, again thanks for the amazing videos keep em coming! I recently built a yd 100 on a cdh power 3.4 frame and it came out just how I wanted. Then I recently came into possession of a predator 212 complete with teg gearbox and all that. The pro lem is other thank taking off the gas tank and the mounting bracket I'm not sure where to start. So I go with a throttle linkage. Or would it be better to get a carb kit and run the throttle through that. I've heard in order to do that you must remove the governor which , Ive seen many videos on how to do but seem like a pain in the ass. Could you please point me on they right direction on thos? 212 is a little ridiculous. I'm surprised you rarely see people use a 120cc, seems like that would be the sweet spot. The 120cc Lifan that Home Depot sells paired with a torque converter would be perfect.

4130 chromemolly steel VS cheap mild steel frame also makes a difference....Wish I had an aluminum mig or tig welder, I tested those alumiweld rods & if done properly can fix an aluminum frame. The weld I made with it was stronger than the 2 pieces of aluminum it welded together. If you don't have any welder you could fix an aluminum frame in a pinch with those alumiweld rods. If I had a junk aluminum frame I'd try to alumiweld some gussets in & test to see if I could make the frame stronger.

My frame cost me $550.00, my exhaust cost me $450.00, the engine, by the time I got it shipped to Canada cost me $690.00, my front forks cost $270.00 Canadian 75c dollar. After all is said and built, I spent between 4 and 5 thousand dollars. I'm almost 69 years old, partly blind, mostly deaf, no sense of balance or smell, and I ride the shit out of it, passing Harleys like they are standing still. Great fun. (Harley riders don't like being passed by a bicycle, with an old man riding it., they'll show you what they've got).
