I've been saving these bed frames and and an old bent up tool stand for awhile now waiting for a good project to use them for. I've really been needing a tool/utility cart in the shop so I figure it was the perfect project.

Dooood!!! Nice ending :D. Great use of scrap. I'm always amazed at what can be made out of old bed frames and how often you can find them laying around.

Yeah lots of good angle iron in a bed frame and you can find them just about everywhere if you're looking. I think i originally got the idea to use bed frames from the bearded dragon himself via reclaimed audio =)

I have dozens of old bedframes in my backyard materials pile. they are so useful to make all kinds of stuff. every time I see them on the curb I grab them.

Just gotta start man! This could have been done with a hack saw and power drill and a bunch of bolts. Just start making things, the tools will come with time.

Dam. Put my cart plans to shame. Kind of salty now. 🤣 lol. Nice job. I have been looking at these 200 dollar carts online all week and came up with the same idea. A bed frame and wood. 😎I want mine a lil lighter. So I can carry it up a few stairs by myself if needed. Also, I want it on the jobsite by tomorrow. So... probably won't get painted. We will see. I gotta make a leather handle now..... ???? Hmm... maybe ill rob my kids old baseball glove😄😃😅😅😄

That flux core welder performed well for you. Any tips on set up? Heat and wire speed please

Well the model I have only gives very course settings a HIGH and a LOW and a 1 or a 2 setting for each so functionally 4 power settings. But for this material I think I was using "High 1" for the angle iron and. "Low 1" for the thinner material which has a tendency to burn through. Wire speed was set to 8 for the majority. I doubt thats relevant to other models though, but that's what I used. For what it's worth this little welder has worked on everything i've thrown at it so far.

The arc flash from a mig welder could have blinded your neighbor kids who would have totally looked directly into it. You’re asking for a lawsuit with this video evidence you’ve posted.

Nice Cart! Don't want to be the youtube safety guy but this is not for your safety so that's different. But you should not be welding in public where an unsuspecting passerby or animal will see the arc. They make welding screens or curtains for this purpose.

Good tip. I didn't know about the screens. I can see folks coming a good long way in each direction and I would stop when ever someone should come past. For what I was doing passers by would be well outside the recommended arc viewing distance though unless they stood in front of my house and continually stared at the arc.
