What an amazing update. I had recently been planning how to supplement our U.S. History study with more diverse materials, and many, many of these tiles were on my list. Can't wait to use your curriculum!

Love it!!! I’m really excited about these reads and I was unsure if I’d buy level 5 and 6, because I’m Canadian, but I think these are definitely worth it!!!

I'm so sad my oldest missed out on this version, but at least the younger three kids will get to do this! All of the book picks look SO GOOD.

I purchased level 6 yesterday! Woot woot😉We are going through the Level 5 booklists and are reading some of your recommendations during the summer. Started with “When I became a ghost”. I cannot see any documentary/movie recommendations for that level though....anyways, we are excited to start soon. Thanks for all you do!!!

Oh man. Of course as soon as I sit down and go thru Hakim’s a history of us and find all of the corresponding chapters in the young readers of A Different Mirror, A People’s History and An Indigenous Peoples’ History this video drops 😂😂😂. Oh well. I’m looking forward to getting the update and all of the new readers!

I love the idea of this curriculum. I also wanted to ask if you could put together a KZfaq Playlist for all of the BYL curriculums to make it easier to find for those of us who use the KZfaq app on the tv! I had to scroll for awhile to get to this to show my daughter.

Hello, brand new to homeschooling and found this searching for secular resources. Where can I find more basic info about this program? Is it just the books I'm buying or is there corresponding worksheets/learning resources? What about if you have kids at different academic levels? Thanks.

Will you ever make a Canadian history version? Loving BYL but will likely end up skipping Level 5 and Level 6 for something that's Canadian based.

Possibly a dumb question. We purchased Lvl 0 a few years ago. Now that its updated do I repurchase or somehow have access to the updated also? Thank you for these amazing curriculum

Updates are always free with purchase. If you still have your download link, you can use that to access the update. If not, just let me know - send me an email with proof-of-purchase and I can send you a new link.

Is the whole level updated if you buy it now? I haven't bought it yet, but sometimes I like to mix and match books from older and updated versions based on what I like better.

Once the update is finalized, you can either use the link you already received upon purchasing to download it, or send me an email with proof of purchase (either the email you used to purchase or the invoice number) and I'll send you a new download link.

This to me seems like overkill on native americans and black americans and not much perspective from european immigrants. I know it's trendy now to present American history this way, but to me it's not a complete picture of early america at all.

There is actually quite a lot of representation of a variety of immigrant groups presented within the main texts - one of them I use is specifically about all the different groups of people who came to America - A Different Mirror.

I think you chose great resources but it seems really unreasonable to cover this many books at the fifth grade level. 62 books is impossible. That's more than is what is covered in the high school levels which is really rigorous as well. I just don't believe this is feasible.

I disagree. I think it's very doable. Half of the books in Level 5 are meant to be read aloud by the parent. It isn't all independent reading. Also, some are poetry books where you literally read 2 poems per week. Many of them are used over 2 years. Maybe it looks like a lot when it's piled up or in list format, but it really isn't unreasonable.
