Thanks for watching :) / Sorry for the bad accent, my English isn't great (it will improve). For people who can't hear the voiceover, I recommend that you turn on the subtitles.
And the LASER projector V2.0 will take a while to get finished (longer than 2 years). I broke 3 cameras and damaged 1 monitor while making this video, so by far this is the most expensive video on my channel yet. :/
WARNING!!: This device uses Class 4 LASER and mains voltage, which can lead to fatal injuries. If you are a beginner or are not comfortable working with mains voltage or LASERS, this project is NOT recommended. This project is done at your OWN RISK.

Cool video! Your english is good enough to understand, however, the music is making it difficult to hear your voice.

Nice one! How did you get the Images from the computer to the drivers though? I guess through the ILDA Port with additional hardware right?
@ERICsLab
@ERICsLab Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I used helios open source ILDA DAC with laser show gen(free version) software. But in the video's intro and the end part, I used the show that is preprogrammed into the main Control board (I was having a problem with the software)

The laser diode driver and the laser diode itself do not look secure. Also I worry the galvo mount will drift with just a bead of hot glue holding it.
@jangrewe
@jangrewe 8 ай бұрын
Don't use hot glue for parts that get hot, or even warm. Or even better yet: don't use any hot glue, at all. Use proper mechnical connections. If you're already using threaded standoffs, why not use bolts?! This looks like a house fire in the making...

LASER diode: Osram PL TB450B/ 1.6W 450nm 5.6mm LD heatsink: heatsink from the old computer will work great(I used old intel CPU cooler) LD driver: anything with TTL function will work Fan: fan with decent airflow (I used cooler master 12V 86mm fan from an old computer) Galvo speed: 30kpps (I think it is 20kpps) Optical angle: ±20° Input voltage: 100~250V AC Total Power usage: 40W Acrylic thickness: 5mm, 3mm Acrylic glue: Methylene chloride SMPS output: +15V 1A, -15V 0.6A (galvo, controller) SMPS output: 12V 2A(LASER) ILDA DAC: helios open source DAC Other:Do not disconnect or connect components while the projector is running, it will damage the main control board with a voltage spike Hope it helped :)

I always struggle to find what the actual max speed of the laser galvo in khz, will it Rotate mirror in khz or 16 Khz??
@ERICsLab
@ERICsLab 7 ай бұрын
I heard somewhere that "kpps" represents how many ILDA test pattern points it can project in a second(for example, 30kpps= it can project 30000 ILDA test points per second) so I’m not sure about the actual frequency of galvo

Dude control your audio levels
@sambeard4428
@sambeard4428 Жыл бұрын
On a more serious note, please control your audio levels, as another commenter mentioned: louder isn't always better and music isn't ways necessary, and if something isn't necessary it stands the risk of getting in the way. That's what happened with your explanation, besides that the rest of the video didn't need to have such generic (loud) music either. Production noises can be quite useful actually! Also if you leave the happy dancy music for a montage bit or perhaps the final presentation of the product, it would have a much stronger role. Good luck, nicely built project!

Real-Talk: Hey just so you know, not ALL information videos need music.. even “at all.” The other thing you can do, if you insist, is to turn it down & increase the volume of your voice In my pursuit of learning up on DIY laser projector creating, your video seems promising but I can’t hear anything you’re saying & the generic stock music makes this video blend w/ other videos like “how to use a sewing machine” or “building a book shelf” where everyone wants the library to be a strangely forced & wildly needless dance party haha If you instructed a class or gave a TED Talk, you wouldn’t just let music roll full-ass volume the entire time & I’m pretty sure the KZfaq algo is looking for longevity; Videos around ~12 minutes that people stick around for The unnecessary layer of music might make people (admittedly ‘like me’) frustrated or check out on a purely psychological level before watching a 17+ minute length video & running the mental math on how long there’s stock music is in this video for 😅 Food for thought, is all; I will now Unpause & continue watching but I sincerely hope you take this feedback as friendly good-intentioned advice ! This is otherwise VERY impressive content / information & building a laser display is “not nothing” haha
