Would love to see a REP fitness version of this video. Think it would be more in the range of a “budget” home gym. Appreciate all y’all do!!

That was an AWESOME video Coop! would love to see TITAN or REP fitness but also would like to see what you would recommend for people to want a budget gym for certain types of working out. IE crossfit gym, powerlifting gym or a cardio focused gym. That kind of stuff would be cool to see what you recommend.

Would love to see you re-build this gym during the matte black sale and compare. Doesn't have to be the exact same items, but build a really comparable gym using matte black deals and see how much better the deals are.

So you are concerned with not being able to put on as many rubber bumper plates plates on the bar compared to steel plates, yet you went with the deep dish plates? Width on Rogue 45 lb rubber echo plate: 2.40" Width of Rogue 45 lb deep dish plate: 2.95"

I have the Monster Lite in my garage in bright green. Easy to fold up when I need the room. Landmine attachment, spotter arms and weight arms. My plates are cheapos inherited from someone else, same with barbell. I added Bowflex dumbbells I found on sale and I have everything I could need for a while. Pretty cost effective.

This was awesome! I’d love to see you do one for Rep; especially since they have that new Aries cable machine.

*I make $23 an hour, but I live in a 6,500 square foot house, drive a 2022 Ford Bronco (optioned out to $55k, no dealer markup on price), and I have a roughly $35k home gym. My budget is tiny when you consider my hourly wage. Hell, I took a $5 an hour pay cut to have less stress when I switched jobs a few years ago. It's all about priorities. You can be of modest means and still have bad ass stuff if you're willing to work for it. Work harder and grow that budget into a super gym!!!*

One thing not mentioned is that if you buy an actual rack the shipping for the order is $75. That’s how I saved a ton on shipping when I set up my gym.

wow I starting building my home gym around Christmas time last year and have spent around $2500 doing so matching different brands, I find it insane that a budget gym is around 2500-3k but if you are on the edge about building one. its the best decision I have ever made!

Bells of steel just came out with a new rack that comes with a lot of attachments. Any review on that coming soon also do you know anything about there plates good bad cheap expensive. Seems like a good deal but unsure

I love your video’s! Can you make a one car garage home gym video? Doesn’t have to be on a budget. I focus on powerlifting, but it doesn’t have to be a powerlifting focused home gym. Probably a nice ideo for people without a lot of space! Keep up the work☺️

At the end of the day Dicks Sporting Goods is where it’s at ! Coop needs to review dicks gym equipment cause I absolutely love it !!! And it’s actually affordable compared to Rogue which is ridiculous priced

Haven't watched until the end so I am not sure what Coops tips on saving are going to be. But when I bought my home gym from Rogue the total with shipping was around $4,700. I didn't realize until after I checked out that if you spend $5,000 that the shipping is free. So I could have bought a lot more equipment and spent around $300 more and got a lot better value. Just something to keep in mind if you are looking to do something like this.

I'd like to see a Bells of Steel video. I bought there light commercial rack a year ago because it was the only 72-inch rack I could find that did not need to be bolted down. I wish I could justify buying there new 3x3 rack since it's the only way I know of to get a lat pulldown with a short Seeling.

Resale value This may be the best reason to go with Rogue. I have about $20,000 in Rogue equipment, and I bet I could sell it for at least $20,000 The “new” prices have went up dramatically lately

Coop, you really lack insight in fitness & working out, there is A LOT of people, who doesn't care for barbells & weightplates. How stale & boring can it be. TRX, adjustable barbell systems (replaces fixed barbells), adjustable dumbbells, bands, functional trainer, GHD & so much more. Perfect gym without boring & stale barbells & weights. And to mention TRX again... an AMAZING tool to build muscle, do cardio & flexbility/mobility, it does it all and it does it amazingly, only problem is that people don't know what to do and where to start. Personally I've used TRX Training Club on demand videos to learn and it's just... the best, if I could only ever choose 1 single thing to workout with, TRX would be the choice.

Coop, Great video! You just gave me an idea, for some reason i dismissed the yoke early on in buying a garage gym, but now i see you can add spotter arms and the center bar is adjustable. This opens up a whole range of new workout possibilities i could be doing with one piece of equipment. Cheers :)

Not so much other companies, but a Craigslist or EBay version. Obviously, it would be illustrative as the kit wouldn’t always be available, but would be an interesting project to see what you can achieve at a specific moment in time.

I've been singing the praises for yokes for years, for the same reasons you cited. So happy for the affirmation. haha

Wow I think we have different definitions of "budget"! I just ordered a pretty much new complete gym, PR-4100 Folding rack (($449 41inch depth) with spotter arms and some weight storage pins) and AB-4100 adjustable bench ($399) from REP ($1120), MX85 MXSelect adjustable dumbbells ($599), and a regular full size olympic barbell and 230 lbs of bumper weights from Fray Fitness ($520 shipped) $2239 Total but I didn't get the cable system or jump rope etc. I thought about scouring facebook marketplace for used bars and weights but that can get exhausting dealing with all the flaky people on there.

Have you ever done a video of how you would outfit your gym if starting from scratch? Not a cheap or money-no-object but more like a best value/use. Maybe a $5k, $10, & $15k levels?

I'm moving soon and looking at their yoke. It doubles as a squat rack, can take accessories, and it's a freaking yoke/rack in the same price range as less versatile racks.

In Thailand you can get a similar set up for under 300usd

R3 rack, boneyard bar and echo bumpers. The R3 rack saves space, yet has band pegs, westside hole spacing, regular and fat bar pull-up options. The echo bumbers are legit and similar width and density to competition plates. If you pull over 500 lbs then you might need steel plates.

I feel like there are some BIG saving left on the table here. For example, you can buy some of the barbell and bumper plates packages that they offer, which from what I can see are really good value. The cheapest one I see now is only $665 and includes an echo barbell, 2x 45s, 25s and 10s + OSO barbell collars + has free shipping. Also the cheapest bumper plates available are actually the US-Mil specs ($160 for 2x 45lbs vs $190 for 2x 45lbs for the echo ones). If you buy a power rack instead of a yoke you also can take advantage of the $75 max shipping.

If you want budget , go with a FITNESS gear pro half rack at Dicks sporting goods , paid like $400 for the rack and go with a ethos 500lb with 45lb bar for like $400 then buy some extra bumper plates at wal mart dirt cheap online ! Your welcome ! Just as good as rogue I’ve had my set for a couple years and no issues ! Also grab rubber mats from tractor supply company at $50 each for 4x6’s

I love my Rouge Stainless Steel Ohio Power bar. I think it's worth the investment especially if you are putting it in your garage where it has moisture exposure. I also started with 500 lbs of Rogue Deep Dish plates. Glad I got them when I did! Just looked at the price and they are $330 more than what I paid.

REP FITNESS! Mostly to justify my purchases hehehe. I got way more gym for the same price as the Rogue total. Stainless steel bar and cable attachments, EXTREME knurling, Lat/row, adjustable bench, bumpers. It's going to be siiiiiiiiiick!

$3k for a budget rogue gym lmao. I think this video just goes to show you can buy better equipment for some of those items elsewhere for cheaper. This didn't even factor in shipping. Unless someone is really hung up on American made.

Using the yoke was inspired thinking. You contradicted yourself however with the plates - if number of plates on the bar is an issue, go for thinner iron plates. Especially if you’re using metal plates, it should also be footnoted that rubber flooring needs to be factored in.

Love it 👍 Very similar to the gym I’m getting together just no weights. When it’s all done it’ll be centered around a TRX/Rings hanging off a wall mounted pull up bar. Only thing I have that’s not here is Plyo Boxes and kettlebells. All Rogue except for the Plyobox, idk Rogue just isn’t making a good Plyobox right now. I like the 1 box you flip around to 3 heights everyone else makes. Mobility focused and body weight is the goal 👍 If I ever get light enough I wanna start looking at rock climbing. Nothing crazy, just think it would be cool to boulder around. Anyone over there at Garage Gym Reviews into climbing?

I am looking to build one but got no budget . Soon will have one. For now I have a pair of 4.5 kg and 2.4 kg concrete dumbbells, 13 kg concrete barbell and a pull up bar . I am looking to get a bench and some cheap weights to build my dream home gym. And I have just spent 3 dollars for the weights because I had left over cement and scrap and 12 dollars for the pull up bar , you don't need thousands of bucks to build a home gym .

You should do a video about equipment for home gyms on upper floors. I sadly can’t have nice things like barbells and squat racks

Awesome video! I’m putting in drywall this week in my garage so I can build a home gym and this is a start. How about a video like this but for low budget, medium budget, high budget? I’ve had about 8k worth of product in my cart at rogue fitness but I have hesitated to pull the trigger because that’s a lot of money. If you were able to do a low, med, high it could help in figuring out what I should buy lol.

i think for a true budget build the loadable dumbbell handles would be a solid choice

I would rather have the half rack for a compact setup, although I think they could have made it a lot better and make better and more accessories. The half rack also gives a rack for the plates again a plus for a compact setup.

I mean I guess if a person goes to by a house and says they don’t want it over $1.5 million that is still technically a budget 😂😂😂

Resale on Rogue is good if you need to sell, and their stuff lasts forever...but the concept of using them when you are on a budget is odd - often times they are priced at premium or overbuilt - they are not a good choice for a budget gym. Now, you might add the odd Rogue piece that is good value, but all the stuff together will cost a lot. Even if you plan to build up and add to a rack for instance - the accessories are rather expensive

I understand this post is almost a year old and I really like it. What I would love to see, if possible, is a home gym on a budget of series, one that is the cheapest possible and then maybe ones that move up by $500 increments. Even if this were just a list on the website, I would love that (If it's already on the website, I apologize, I haven't checked). I have about $2,500 I can spend, and with some of the older videos, the just don't seem to fit for what I'm looking for. I think I'll take the suggestion and wait until November to get the gym since all these sites do black Friday. If you could do a build your gym on black Friday, that would be even better. I love you content, thanks for all the great work.

I’d like to see a budget setup built around different training styles: CrossFit, strongman, powerlifting, general fitness, etc. and go from there. It doesn’t have to be from the same company, but can be. Choose a dollar amount and build the above gyms held to that same $$$.

Lol the only rogue things I have is a pair of 55 and 15lb flec bumper plates. But overall my gym prolly cost 2500$ and I have a full rack, 2 titan fitness wall mount cable machines that make a functional trainer, dicks sporting goods barbell that came with 300lbs of weight, a preacher curl stand and adjustable dumbells thay go from 5lbs to 100lbs each. Its the best room in my house and makes my life better every day

Id like to see you do this for REP and use the $3000 - $3300 cost for this rogue build as the budget for REP, and other companies you do, to kind of show what’d you get for roughly the same amount of money.
