Find out how Sam found budget gym equipment through shopping affordable fitness brands as well as searching for high-quality brand knockoffs.
Plus, learn how he made the most of a small space by purchasing compact fitness equipment. Space-saving exercise equipment is a must for people who are tight on room, and Sam had the challenge of doubling up his laundry room for home gym use. Sam seems like a simple man that prefers to provide for himself. At least that's what I envision, because it's a little odd (not wrong, just odd) being Coop's #2, who has everything, or access to/connections to everything... and here Sam is watching budget items for small price drops over months. Major props to Sam!

Its time to get ready for the summer. All year working from home fat just built up on me like crazy. I will start with some short workouts in my home gym which I built a year ago. The only benefits of a small space is you can only fit so much equipment so it helps makes buying decisions easier and in the process easier on the budget.
@THEJavelinX
@THEJavelinX 2 жыл бұрын
I actually prefer a smaller space because it means everything is pretty much within arms reach. I have a smaller space than his, with a foldable power rack and heavy duty safety pins by Ethos (with pullup bar), plate pins built into the wall (also Ethos) that are currently holding like 600lbs, an ironmaster super pro with dip handle (thanks Coop for the suggestion, AWESOME piece of equipment), a dumbbell rack (generic heavy duty mini rack, has 70s, 40s,30s,20s,10s with room for another set). I built a pulley system that attaches to the rack and has an OLY pin by Ironmind that I've had for years (used with rolling thunder and whatnot). Really the last thing I want is either a rower or assault bike, but they need to be foldable or compact. All this is stored in a 12'x4' space in my garage, I have horse stall mats that extend another 5' during active use (my wife actually pulls into the garage right over the top of them when not in use)

I don't classify this as a small space. The dude is lucky to have a whole laundry room for a squat rack. I have a tiny 1 bed flat. There's no way I'm going to have the space for anything more than a foldable bench and plate dumbbells..

I feel like Sam’s situation with the equipment he buys is very relatable. Often times I feel like I see videos from equipment channels and they call something a “budget pick” and it ends up being like $500. This video shows that unless you are super picky and serious about gym equipment. You probably won’t notice if a knob on a bench “feels” expensive or if the powder coat is “bad”. Most people don’t actually sweat the small details and what you can afford is oftentimes times perfect for what you are trying to accomplish.

All the super fancy stuff gets the attention but videos like this are great because this is what the majority of people train with at home, and what the majority of people who don't think they can make a home gym work need to see. I've more recently built out a gym that is way overkill but for years now I've supplemented having some version of a "home gym" to pair with a gym membership. Sam has all he needs to get started and make progress.

This is the type of video that I feel we all come here to watch. Real world home gyms and the experience they had with the equipment. Have a X-frame bike setup infront of my TV for cardio while I game or watch Netflix. Next purchase is a sissy squat. All for just over a $1000 Canadian. You really don't need a ton of money to build a setup that suits your needs. Looking forward to one day owning a nice cable machine in my basement!

Why does GGR only do power racks and tonal stuff??? I have the powertec lever gym in a very small bedroom, and it does EVERYTHING a power rack could ever dream of and cost me used way under $2k. And I have their leg Press, leg curl, bicep curl, peck fly, tricep push down accessories for their gym system. And has hi low cables, exercise band attachments. The lever gym can far more safely work out alone than with a power rack, and have safer form.

Great video. I also have a small gym space, and it's always nice to see how others set them up.

Good content, I think this is more realistic to what most of us have to work with. I hav 125 square ft and similar stuff. Small amounts of high quality equipment allow for plenty of variety
