Sad to see this is going on in the US its no different here in Australia I went from one day picking my two girls up from school putting up a new basketball hoop playing with them, making their lunch for the next day, helping them with there homework, to being wiped completely from there lives the next day. 2 weeks out from my first court date my daughter told me via email that she would get her chance to tell the judge how much she hates me and what a bad father I am. I know in my heart this was not my daughter talking, both my daughters and I had an unbreakable bond that my wife knew she had to cut. I've since learned from her best friend she had been planning this months before we split, out of sheer jealousy of my relationship with my daughters. As a male in Australia, you have no chance against the system there is no justice for you, Love your kids from a distance, be there when they realize the truth. The best way to deal with your ex is to feel sorry for them that they are so incapable of love for there own children, that they can put there own hatred in front of there childrens well-being. And to realize that any mother who takes that special bond away from a Dad and his daughters has very serious mental issues

I am going through a difficult custody case now - 7 years post divorce. I would add that a good place to start is to have the child see his/her own counselor. That person can recommend co-parent and/or reunification counseling. In my case, the mother would not allow either. Before I could get to court, I had Child Protective Services called on me. The prompted accusations were false and there was no investigation. Once in court, I requested a Guardian Ad Litem, a full custody evaluation (incl. psych testing), co-parent and/or reunification counseling. My ex would not comply, so the judge had to order all but the GAL. The court date is 6 months away, and my ex refuses/delays meeting the counselors. The remedy is a show cause, where she has to explain her inability to follow the courts order to the judge. To say this type of custody case is messy and expensive is an understatement. However, such an effort is worth saving ones child from a mentally abusive environment. I wish all that are living in this hell infinite patience and a view for the long term. Good luck!

I think the definition needs to be made broader than a child simply feeling hostility or being disrespectful toward the target parent. My Ex appears not to badmouth me but frequently puts the ball in the court of our children giving them responsibility for making the decision whether to come see me or not despite having a custody agreement in place. This creates a very obvious dynamic of codependency between the parent and child where the child becomes responsible for the feelings and mental well being of the alienating parent. The child does not want to disappoint the alienating parent and has been subverted into the role of the adult. The answer will nearly always be, no I want to stay with you, or a guardian i.e. grandparents, approved by you.

I am going through this now going on over three years. My problem is the judge doesn't believe in parent alienation, although he said if I can prove it with a therapist letter he'll grant my requests for access to my child against her wishes. The therapist charge up to $7000.00 to evaluate and establish this! I'm still trying to fight for the right to be a Mom to my child who is now 15! But it's been up hill. Especially since I've had to learn the law for myself along the way. Every challenge has felt hopeless. But I haven't given up quite yet.

I've been through all of it. 27 years married. Divorce final a year now.. still going through custody battle, 4 years. He's had a GF longer than we've been separated. I was a stay at home mom for 20 years. Son aged out. Daughter just turned 13. The ex narcopath is a Lt. for Sheriff's Dept. and has abused his power to make me look like a bad parent. Our judge and evaluator are corrupt as is the ex. My daughter started seeing a therapist 4 years ago because she wrote a note to her teacher stating, Daddy yelled F Yous to Mommy, and this is the day she thought she'd die. Ex went to school and told principal I told her to write it. What? He then said we were going through 730 and to file it. School counselor saw her and said, No suicidal ideation, then sent her to therapist. I was kept out of the loop for over a year, but I'm the one who took her every week during our limited time. She wrote a report that I was resentful. Not true! We spoke privately a few times and I told her the truth. I even joined in some sessions. Ex never did. He's used his comrades and my former friends to side with him..It's despicable....

I just watch the whole video. I went through a child custody case for two-and-a-half 3 years. What you just said in this video would probably call someone close to anywhere from 60 to $130,000. Guardian in Litem you have to be careful with those they are very expensive and they can make your life a living hell in the process especially if they have a biased towards women or men. But I am going through this right now and I am actually taking the mother back to court, because she is trying to tell my son at the age of 4 years old that I am not his father and that her boyfriend is the father and I have to call a specialist and that's costing me about 10 grand

Everything said in this video can be easily countered though. GaL doesn’t actually do anything but offer a recommendation based on their own bias. Generally they are women who view men in a bad light. Psych Evaluations can be sealed and the psychologist can be put under a gag order when not favorable to the mother. Experts such as therapists, counselors, school teachers and administrators can all be discredited for even asking them to show up in court as a witness. If you’re a father going through this I would just advise your learn your rights and keep as much distance between you and your ex wife/kids as possible or you will end up in jail.

Many states have no PA laws, as it's not accepted by the DSM Board in the DSM. That Alienation occurs on a daily basis is hard to dispute, one parent targeting the other to destabilize, frustrate and otherwise humiliate and destroy the other targeted parent. Shared and equal parenting laws (within reason and on a case-by-case assessment) is the only real solution. Spending years and tens of thousands of dollars on needless litigation that invariably increases conflict and damages children is the worst case scenario with the least efficient cost-benefit outcome.

it's not that simple. my case is more complicated..there is no doubt my ex is a sociopath path, but he's never been diagnosed so in the eyes of the court he's just fine. the GAL on my case went to our failed attempt at mediation and did nothing but sat there and got paid for his time, buy when it was over he pulled me to the side and said, "you need to pay me in full and promptly, because I have a lot to do with the judge's decision". I felt very uncomfortable form then on. that pretty much made me feel like he could be bought and that money mattered more than my daughter to him and I knew my husband at the time had more of it. I've always been the primary caregiver for my daughter. I've never hurt her. he was abusive. it didn't matter. now I haven't seen my daughter since May 20th and today is Sept 4th. i have a court date in a few days. the judge has stated that my ex is not in compliance. now he's offered supervised visitation like I'm some kind of criminal or child abuser. the court order says nothing about supervised visitation. I've seen her twice for one hour at a time. each time she begged to come with me. my ex hurt her the first visit but in such a way that I couldn't go to anyone. he was wiping her girl part too hard. she would say ouch bit he continued. 4th or 5th time I asked him to stop. he accused my little 3 year old girl of putting on a show for mommy. he's sick and I'm helpless. I'm out of money so I don't and can't afford a lawyer

Im sorry youre dealing with these problems, family court is a mess, a den of vipers where civil rights and the ability to do the right thing are thrown out the window. Judges decide cases for their careers and for money, child support orders are matched by the federal government so the states have a financial interest in separating children from parents, sick huh?? Thats why so many people are accused of abuse, thats the trump card. In reality its the citizens that are victimized by the system, sad day indeed, we need to protect our civil rights and we need jurys in family courts.

this is all well and good but a mother can fail to participate under a court order for months and years without any action by the court. even after a filing of contempt and a ruling of default a mother can still avoid participation without any recourse. I know all the mother's and lawyers will deny this happens but I have reams of paperwork that proves it. and if you can not afford an attorney you will not even get in front of a judge. the court appointed attorneys are available for single mothers almost exclusively.

Someone Else all very true. I am one of the statistics. They drag their feet and in the mean time the mother keeps on trucking violation after violation. A smack on the wrist is all she gets despite taking her to court multiple times and a shit ton of evidence to include text, email, and audio of the child telling me his mother will spank him and send him to bed early if he dare even mentions me in front of her.

It happened to me, I am a woman. My ex never paid child support, he talked her into living with him and his new wife (he married her within a month of our divorce). Then filed for child support from me, even though he never paid any to me. Then he and new wife ( former girlfriend while married to me) continuously lied and bad mouthed me and turned my daughter against me. I worked 6 & 7 days a week, 12 hr shifts because he wouldn't pay child support, he convinced our daughter that I was always out partying and didn't want her. He was ordered to pay 25 dollars a wk and didn't. He received 175 dollars a wk when he filed for child support from me. And I bought her school clothes/supplies, kept medical insurance on her. Yet they alienated/brainwashed her to believe I was the cheater, partied all the time. She is 33 now and we are still estranged. She won't listen/talk to me.
