Hello! Today we are showing you the entire build of our new DIY Backyard garden pond! We want to put in a really large pond eventually, but this was a great gateway into getting some water onto our property and having some area for wildlife to cool down. We will list ALL of the items used for the pond below, and also a list of all of the plants
*POND (from Lowes)
go.magik.ly/ml/23gw4/
*PUMP - This is NOT the exact pump we used, I cannot find that one online unfortunately but this one is pretty similar
amzn.to/4cGjKBn
Plants:
*Dianthus - We got ours on clearance $1 per pot
go.magik.ly/ml/23gw6/
*Day Lily
go.magik.ly/ml/23gw5/
Lupine
go.magik.ly/ml/23gw8/
Kousa Dogwood - Bought at local nursery

My girlfriend and I like to fantasize that we move to WA and buy a cute little gnome home and you and your family are our neighbors and we share garden food and invite each other over for dinner monthly. Yes it’s weird to admit this to you, but sometimes it’s the little things that keep you going lol

I had hyperemesis with my first pregnancy, and going to an indoor pool while the elderly people are water walking and just floating, it took the nausea and hip pain away while I was in the water. Only while in, but still, that couple of hours was bliss. Just a thought. Congratulations!!!!!

I’d love to see you do a video kind of in the vane of those speed clean home videos where you tidy up your property (pick up planting containers and put them away, sweep your porch and walkways, wrap up the hose, etc) basically just a full outdoor reset! I find those cleaning videos so satisfying and I haven’t seen one of an outdoor property like yours before ◡̈ (not at all meant to be shady toward the cleanliness of your property, just a video idea!)

I have an old pond I need to clean out and start a fresh. I'm dreading it! So many dead things in it. We had fish at one point. There used to be so many frogs too. I miss them! My kids caught tadpoles. so fun.

Kristi, FYI if you are going to put goldfish in it for mosquito's then I wouldn't put a pump in it. The fish won't really eat the eggs as much than if it was still. Goldfish doesn't need a pump to breathe and they can live in the pond year round and be ok. Then will go to the bottom and go dormant in the winter. I learned all this when I had my pet store and people would come in and order boat loads of koi's and goldfish.

I’ve been dying to do this!! My indoor fishtanks are really an excuse for more plants lol. I don’t know if the same goes for small outdoor ponds but that super cool piece of wood might release tannins in the water and turn it dark brown. I hope I’m wrong but if not driftwood is the way to go.
