Thank you for showing people that you can successfully build a fairly complicated amp without issue. The Stew Mac documentation makes it almost foolproof. They did a fantastic job, as did you Landon. The parts are from Mojotone and can be purchased from them without the Stew Mac add ons if you’re already experienced enough to get it done. Not recommended for a first timer though! I have a feeling that the Princeton won;t be your last build. Everyone needs a Tweed Bassman or JTM45(which are far less complicated).

I've built a few amps. No full kits, but major components available or repurposed chassis. My favorite is my 6G2 Brown Princeton. I started the project before I knew of Chris Stapleton's Princeton. This circuit is basically an up powered 12 watt) Tweed Vibrolux (10" 10watts). I built mine with a Weber 12A125S 12" Alnico Speaker. It has more of a Tweed characteristic then the later models, but is sweet. The 12" speaker adds to a fuller sound. I also tweaked the Tremolo to a slower rate range and slightly reduced depth. I love playing it paired with my Vox AC-15C-1X The two paired will give you a blues-rock tone to die for! I did get the idea of trying the two together from Rich Robinson (The Black Crowes) and I instantly fell in love with the tone. Just like Rich, it sounds great with a Tele or an ES-335, or any of my P90 guitars. I've been playing mostly bass the last couple years, but I want to build a Musicmaster Bass head or a Bassman 10 head. Either build will have to be from scratch, as there is nothing available for either. I could repurpose a chassis and maybe some transformers.

Colour me impressed! The Princeton is pretty complicated for a first build. Mine was a 5E3 (narrow-panel Tweed Deluxe), which is a much simpler circuit.

You Sir are officially a electromechanical build technician, after you're done building this you can be mil-spec certified and work anywhere. They will just have to train you how to do surface mount and you will be rocking in the manufacturing of electronics. There's a lot of other stuff like winding coils and solder flow machines and different types of wiring and connectors and stuff like that but you learn that as you go, you are natural.😎😁

As a ham radio operator, I've built lots of electronics stuff. I built some test equipment and a color TV once. I used to work at Collins Radio, too. I'd love to have a Princeton Reverb! But, the cost of building one is only $100 less than one from Fender. It would fun though!

I've built the same amp kit, made in germany (tube amp doctor TAD), without such a guide book, only a schematic. I added a bias adjustment with a potentiometer, and put a 12" speaker (G12H30). This is a great amp. I would have liked it to crunch at a little lower volume, that's the only criticism I can make. The day I have to change the tubes, I will correct that with a selection adapted for that. Currently the sweet spot is at 7. The volume is already high. I would like to lower this setting to 5/6. Ps: Better structured cabling, with more varied colors, will make troubleshooting easier. One should see the circuit diagram at first glance.

Also don't leave sinkholes in the solder joints where the pins go through you wanted it to flow up the pin slightly on both sides smooth and shiny don't keep the soldering iron there too long or you'll get a cold solder joint if it's not shiny it's not a good joint.

It's $1299. You can pretty much get a fully assembled Fender Princeton fort the same price. Not sure this is worth it unless you just want to build one and have it lose a ton of value as soon as you solder the first connection (you can't return it, and it isn't a 'real Fender' even if you believe it is better than the original).

@@landonbailey I’m not sure many who watch this will appreciate the levels of skill you have shown here, Landon (Sounding like a REAL fan-boy here!😬👍). I wish I could still sit and work like you have ably demonstrated to assemble your beaut of a Princeton. The current Fender offerings are just pale imitations of the originals on which yours is based, full of cheap components on cheap PC boards connected by, equally cheap, ribbon cables. It’s great to see custom offerings like this alive, and obtainable, in the World. There’s virtually nothing of equivalence in UK - in fact, without the (highly import taxed) parts, etc. imported from N. America, customisation opportunities here are really extremely limited. Unlike the US and, presumably, Canada, even before online became so huge, the number of physical retail outlets in most of this island were few and far between, and most catered, primarily, to the lowest end of the market, and those offering parts of any quality have always seemed to be more or less permanently out of stock of the item you desperately need to elevate one of your instruments to another level.
