Was I the only one who saw the spark plug was covered in oil when he took it out? Looks like the valve cover gasket is shot.

It’s a common problem with those things. I had one and my friend had one they both don’t like valve cover gaskets

Not just the gasket, but the valve covers tends to warp being plastics.

My wife had an 03 Focus that she owned for years and there aren't too many cars I loved driving in the winters in snow storms where we are. Her's was an exception. That thing would go through snow on just the cheap studded tires like it was had AWD. It was a lot of fun to drive it finally rusted itself to pieces.

There is a kit that converts the focus to rwd and allows you to fit a 4.6 in it but its quite expensive

@@leonardgoldberg2879 that’s funny because my ‘01 is spotless inside and out and used every day in rough climates almost always. 25 years in the salt belt not one lick of rust. Undercoating is key. Like some Honda or Subaru 💩 wouldn’t do the same. Piss off

@@supra6t9i live in the salt belt aswell and see a ton of first gen focuses on the road still. They are tough little cars. They are popular for oval racing to. Good suspension and a stiff chassis makes them great for racing.

I had an 01’ Sean Hyland Edition Focus, full suspension and aftermarket wheels from the showroom floor. Eat mustangs up on a back road. Stock 130hp wasn’t enough. Full Exhaust, headers, cold air intake, “super chips” tuner, and 93octane got me 132wheel hp. Or about 150bhp lol Still slow and still fun.

Why do folks always put the intake right where driving through a big enough puddle will cause water ingestion? LOL I mean I get it if you are on a controlled race track, but for the street/offroad???

well the only thing i can figure is that the aftermarket intakes are designed to keep the engine heat away from where the intake sucks in the air and thus making the air charge cooler for more power....i think a simple shield would solve that issue....i do see your point tho

I compete with a mk1 focus, so I'm watching this one close! You can carry way more speed and left foot brake that car instead of the e brake..

I miss my 2007 5S-manual Focus. 193,000 miles original clutch (my first manual car as well!). Removed the rear seats, and that thing was pretty beastly for its small HP & TQ numbers on paper. People would always ask about the fact that there is no tach too.

@@MattMatt77 The younger generation these days are just ignorant, due mainly to most of them getting their information from TikTok university. Cosworth Escorts are in my top 3 favorite cars. I think, now that people are down with completely dangerous life-threatening sports, they need to bring back Group B rally & get the manufacturers back into motorsports.

The thing is when it comes to history this because people aren't talking about it doesn't mean it never happened. Because from what I know Subaru has always been OK in Rally. But they did great in the 90s. But what you said it very much true
