I'm not sure if you know this, but you're sitting on a gold mine with that tractor. It has a peerless 820 transmission. These transmissions can go for as much as $700 new! And they are extremely heavy duty

I think both mowers need custom gas pedals as well. And if you ever want to unseize an engine spray PB blaster in the spark plug holes and then turn the flywheel nut with a breaker bar. This method has worked great for me. I think I remember the Troy bilt was a 17 hp too. Great video!!

been watching you for a while, finally had the drive to pull out my craftsman YT3000 over the summer and get it running. mice ate the ignition wiring, cleaned that up put a 5 inch pulley on the trans and some nice 19 inch sunF mud tires on the back (14mph top speed with gas pedal). makes a nice trail cruiser. AND i can still mow with it

I don't have even close to as much of a tractor as that (I've got a little MTD Transmatic Transaxle 14HP Tractor), but I kind of want to turn it into a mud mower like yours. Just need some better tires, weights, and determination! Hope that tractors doing well for you. Looks like a beast!

Just so you know the transmission in that tractor is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE and the engine as a whole probably has enough power to be a 4x4

Does Major Murray have a Peerless 820, I know that was common in those machines?? Something a lot of people get confused about, the seat safety does not play a role in starting the machine, it's the clutch safety, the seat safety is only for the mower deck.

Just a suggestion how about making major Murray a 4x4

My Brother gave me an old V Twin Western Auto mower and I've watched every gas pedal video I can find but I'm not as swift as I was 20 yrs ago. I'm just not getting it. I'm a diabetic and on disability so my one good eye don't see too good. I use to build Hot Rods in my younger days but I saw a video of a Rat Rod Mower and fell in love. I have a 1993 Murray 46209 that looks a whole lot like Major Murray, same square hood and same color. Has a Tecumseh engine and a Peerless 930-033 transmission. I need to pull the deck lift control and the blade engagement control levers off as I no longer run the mower deck

If you want that motor to idle low pull the idle spring off but not the governor spring .pulling that spring off makes them idle like a Harley
