Could you tell me what tool and staples you were using? Thank you!

Thanks! The tool I used to attach the hardware cloth was a 3 in 1 - 18 gauge nail/stapler from harbor freight. I was shooting narrow crown staples that were galvanized. Let me know if you have any more questions!!

Hey! Ok I set my posts!! I can’t believe I actually am able to do this thanks to your video! I’m going to buy more wood today and I wanted to double check on the top rail size of wood. Is that a 2x6? I’m so excited to get going! I also got the harbor freight staple thingie too. Thank you for all your help!

Awesome! The very top, I used a 5/4 deck board. Which is 5.5 wide by just over an inch. Treated lumber of course. You could use a 2x6 as well… I just wanted it to overhang both sides of the 4x4 posts. The staple gun is great, but it’s also cheap, it might only last a project or two, but I still think it’s worth it! Keep it up!

Do you recommend pressure treated wood or cedar wood for the 4x4's and 2x4's?
@woodvise
@woodvise 11 ай бұрын
That’s a great question! For me I chose pressure treated base in the price. It was going to me much cheaper than cedar. But I do know that using cedar might have some great benefits! If you go with pressure treated, you will have to seal it or stain it after about a year, once it dries out a bit. Have fun!

Question, your using 2x6 lumber for the bottom rails but the top rails are 2x4 correct? Then the top cap is screwed into the 2x4's i'm assuming?? Thank you for the great video !!!
@woodvise
@woodvise 2 ай бұрын
That’s right! The 2x4 on its side gives the top cap the stability that it needs without bowing down! Thanks for asking! Let me know if you have any other questions! I’m glad you find the video useful!

Thanks for the video. It looks like there is a big enough gap at the bottom of the gate that rabbits could go under, is that a concern? Maybe I'm not seeing it correctly.
@woodvise
@woodvise Жыл бұрын
Yes and no, I’m still deciding if that is a concern or not, my original thought of the gate was to add pavers as a flat concrete base where the gate closes. I just haven’t though much more about it. What do you think? Should I do that?
@markspencer4382
@markspencer4382 Жыл бұрын
@@woodvise Maybe so. I'm about to have a similar garden fence project. My idea is to have a board running along the bottom just barely above ground level.

It’s me again… sorry! What size 4x4 post are those? I’ve got all my holes finished. Wish I had an auger lol!
@woodvise
@woodvise 4 ай бұрын
That's so exciting! and sounds like a lot of work! the 4x4 post that I bought were 8ft long. I think I tried to dig down at least 3 feet, leaving the post out of the ground about 4 1/2 to 5 ft. that way I could level a whole side of the fence visually. I hope this helps, if not reach out again! thanks! and good luck!

How far did you space your 4x4s?
@woodvise
@woodvise 3 ай бұрын
I space them between 5-6 ft apart, I didn’t want them to sag between and I also wanted to span 3 posts with the top rail/board. Thanks for asking! Let me know if you have any other questions! 😁
