The fence is made using 6 gauge Hog wire fencing panels, I got mine from tractor supply. Technically I think the 4"x4" square paneling is called Sheep or Goat fencing but who knows. The frame is made from pressure treated 2x4s with a dado that holds the hogwire fence in place.

The gate brace should have been from the lower hinge to the upper latch part of the gate. I think. Great garden.

I think the brace on the door should be the other way around. Lower part of the brace on the hinge side. That way it will work on compression instead of tension.

Yes, I was just curious how many would have this comment. Generations after generations have taught us the right and the wrong way to cross brace on doors, and I was a little baffled when I saw he did it wrong - a highly skilled woodworkers as he is. So I installed the cross brace the way you're implying on the shed and everyone said it was wrong.....so.....50% are 100% wrong 50% of the time is what you're saying. Regardless I plan flipping the brace....and figured to do so before launching the video.

I don't think the brace on the gate was even necessary because the hog fence alone would give it diagonal strength inless there was a problem with the gate twisting. In this case it really doesn't matter how the support was put on.

To keep deer out you should build to the tops of the poles. No reason to cut them off. Deer can jump a 6 foot fence. Because of difficult footing inside, they might not be able to get out.

Based on your description this was done a few months ago. I had planned to do a very similar fence with the dado in 2X4s so I made a single panel as a mock-up. I used a dado 2X4 top and bottom, (drainage holes in the bottom) and dadoed directly in the 4X4 posts rather than adding vertical 2X4s. What I found was the 2X4s did not want to stay straight and engaged with the fence panels, as they warped and separated in the middle they made it so that a good push could pop the panel out. I was toying with the idea of using something to fasten the wire into the dado but I abandoned the whole idea and went with a different method.
