Nicely done, and if it's not for animal or human consumption then it's ok, but I would have a different approach when installing the outlet. Due to the origin of the water, that tank will have some sediment overtime and some algae and other plants may grow. Part of that sediment will go down the pipe but there's a risk it may get clogged. Now, there will come a time you'll feel the need to clean the tank and even though you take all that sediment and plants by yourself, part of it will inevitably go down the pipe. All in all, what i would do is installing the outlet not at ground level but a few centimeters over and I would also install a second outlet, a bigger one, just for cleaning purposes, and this would be at absolutely ground level, big enough I could just clean the tank with just a bit of water and a broom.

Thank you very much for your good comment and the suggestion with putting the outlet higher. Indeed over time already quite some leaves have accumulated in the tank and you are probably right that a little higher outlet would be better. Please consider what @fadetounforgiven suggests when building yours.

@@vale.do.salgueiro you're welcome. Now that I think about it, what you could do now adding an elbow connection between that "metal filter ball" and the pipe itself, (maybe with just a few centimeters of pipe, just, just a few) pointing upwards, so the water gets into the pipe from a higher position. Obrigado!

@@vale.do.salgueiro If you can maintain high level of water in the tank all year round, I would put the outlet in the middle (like 40% ). The outlet at the ground level for cleaning is must have you will thank yourself later.

Yeah two outletd would be better, one higher up used regularly and one at the lowest point that can be opened fully to flush out sediment

I am new to your channel. Is the purpose of the granite tank to water crops? Also when I went to the “About” I didn’t see any information about you and where or why you are doing all this hard work.

Remember if you make any remodelling that water creates terrible pressure and suction forces as it travels. For instance if you dive into a tank to clear an outlet pipe, once it is clear all the water wants to pass through it - with you in it. You can also get stuck with your head under water in seemingly innocent situations. Nothing in your video was a reason for this comment, more the comments and great suggestions.

Here in the States, it’s assumed that the delivery driver is responsible for the safe unloading of any product unless advised beforehand. In this case, the driver would be responsible for the broken pieces, and i would have rejected the delivery of the broken pieces. There is the option for purchasers to unload themselves, but that is clear at the time of purchase. What a shame to see the broken pieces which likely were VERY EXPENSIVE already.

In Portugal it is more difficult to get a refund from a driver. They usually dont have an insurance or anything... But you are right that would be fair.

Roman dodecahedron is it a filter from a stone water tank that sits at the bottom where the water exits? people dislodged the dodecahedron over the years to play with, old stone tanks became funerary. Recycled

Looks nice ! Well done! but I wonded why yoy didt use pegs /rodds when connecting the slabs ? Alot stronger than just gluing the stones together . you did use rods with the cracked piece.
@vale.do.salgueiro
@vale.do.salgueiro Ай бұрын
Thanks for your question. You are right it is more stable with metal rodds, we used inox here. And maybe it is a bit hard to see in the video, but we did use them when we connected the last stone of the tank to the sides (see 13:32 and you will see 4 small holes).

Is the main water source a spring, irrigation system, runoff, or??
@vale.do.salgueiro
@vale.do.salgueiro 2 ай бұрын
Thanks for your question! It is an old irrgation system in Portugal its called "levada" de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levada it branches off the nearby river that you see in the beginning and takes the water more than 3km to adjoining agricultural fields

Thanks ATold, Our granite came from the region 4575-006 Alpendorada. If you search this region in google maps, you should see many small and large companies really close to each other, you can contact some of these to get an offer.

?????????????? Why would you buy more rocks, and pay to have them delivered, when the site has more rocks than you know what to do with? This does not seem like a good use of money. You should be buying Portland cement, and a backhoe of some type and this will allow you clear areas, dig up big rocks, and allow you to place them. This would be a much better use of any funds you have.
