I've decided to build a hidden bushcraft log treehouse to have a go-to location when I need some rest from the world and don't feel like building a quick shelter. To make it more interesting and challenging (and waaaaay harder) it's going to be made with only two tools - a Silky saw and an auger. No screws, no nails, no power tools, no chainsaw. A knife or a machette for some small side jobs and that's it.
This is part TWO of the build. It will probably be a 3-4 part series as it's really slow and grueling job.
The spruces were supposed to end up as Christmass trees ages ago and now it's an overgrown and 'overpopulated' mess with most trees having little chance of growing so I'm picking the ones that are already drying and the ones with little chance of developing in to big healthy trees.
Hope you like it!

hey Frosty. !!!! I love how you used pegs instead of metal spikes....I was waiting for you to make a long handle mallet to make it a little easier for you to pound them in but ok....the structure is very strong and should last a long time....can't wait to see the next episode !! as always...say Hello to Tref and see you soon.

Its a nice idea but if I get this right you now have the weight of all these logs from floor + walls and what is supporting this are 3-4X wooden pegs 2inches in diameters that connects to the existing trees? Are you planning on added a few extra cross members maybe to make sure it doesnt collapse?
@frostys_bushcraft
@frostys_bushcraft Жыл бұрын
Hey. It's actually held on by 23 pegs plus couple of reinforcements that connect the middle of the logs and the ground, and I'll add 9 more pegs when I start making the side walls and the roof. I think that's plenty strong.
