Last time we built a house where every room was 1 tile bigger, this time, each room is a square - 1x1, 2x2, etc!

Suggestion: the Tetris challenge You'd play a game of Tetris, and you have to use the shape of the first 10 pieces you get to create the rooms with. Any size you wish, but they have to be that shape.

@@luizamarangoni8200 The first one was adding one tile to each room, so the first room had one tile, then two, etc, so to get a 4x4 room you would need 16 rooms. The 1x2, 2x3, 3x4 would make bigger rooms faster than the original challenge, but the rooms would be smaller and less boxy than the 1x1, 2x2, 3x3 challenge

You should do this again, but with "golden rectangles." Essentially rooms with dimensions that are adjacent Fibonacci numbers. For example, the Fibonacci sequence is 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, etc. so you could have a 1x1, 1x2, 2x3, 3x5, 5x8, 8x13, 13x21, etc.
@theductductgoose
@theductductgoose 3 жыл бұрын
someone suggested this above, but I don't think they knew the sequence had a name
@AlexaFaie
@AlexaFaie 3 жыл бұрын
@@theductductgoose Their version was 1x2, 2x3, 3x4, 4x5, 5x6, 6x7, 7x8 etc just adding one wall length to each side of the rectangle. Which isn't the same as using the Fibonacci sequence at all.

this house looks like it was built and designed by an alien who's been observing humans through television shows. I say this because it's funny, but also... the philosophy major in me has to defend my thesis. 1. small bathroom? yeah, humans never use the bathroom on TV. 2. BIIIG BEDROOM AND WARDROBE? characters never wear the same thing twice. and clothes buying is a big deal in media.

Let’s just say this house is eccentric. It works for that and I think it’s absolutely charming

This could have been an opportunity for an upside down house! The rooms downstairs could have been bedrooms/bathroom and the massive room upstairs could have been an open plan living/kitchen area lol

I always feel like James’ outro is like in oscars where they put the music on to rush them off the stage, and his music is rushing him off to finish the video quickly.

For the different shapes option for the challenge could be defined by making how many walls, so start with 4 to make an enclosed room, then go to 5 by making a diagonal corner, then for 6 you could make one side of a square point like the shape of a house and so on

NESTING ROOMS! You start with a huge room, let's say 16x16, and then each successive room is smaller and also *inside* the room preceding. So the 16x16 contains an 8x8, and that contains a 4x4, and that contains a 2x2... And that contains a 1x1. Obviously they can share walls, of course.

There is only one way this house makes sense, and I kinda love it. This is an old (British) town pub, with the upper events area open (rec area), the downstairs main pub area (bedroom), they've knocked through the old toilet stalls to make a larger kitchen (that's where the plumbing is!) and kept the staff bathroom as the actual bathroom (too small!). The wood panelling and blue staircase also fit really well with that aesthetic?
