In this video, I'll guide you through my steps creating a safe and comfortable home for your feathered friend.
Parrots require a cozy nesting box where they can lay eggs and hatch their chicks. With the right design and materials, you can create a sturdy and durable box that will last for years.
Its a simple box construction from cypress pine but has a few unusual features that took some working out.

With the entrance facing up, the box will have to be placed so rain doesn't flood it. Nice job.

Thanks! Fortunately it shouldn't flood regardless of positioning due to the gap I leave on the underside of the entrance tunnel that I mention at 6:50 and the holes in the corners of the main box base. The parrots are safe no matter the weather!

Nicely done! My hoarding nature cringed when you were throwing those offcuts into the trash 🤣 but such a cool project! You'll have to post a follow-up once it's in place and (hopefully) has some parrots living in it.

Thanks Rob! I've learnt that I have to be a lot more cutthroat with my offcuts as I keep running out of space. The burn bin gets a workout now.
