Great to be able to ride along on the dozer and the excavator, as well as sit off at a distance to watch them at work. Thanks for your time to set us up so that we can watch you at work. Very enjoyable. Appreciate the lack of drama that turns me off on so many good potential video channels. Back in my college years I worked summers at ESCO Corp. in Portland Oregon to help pay my way through school. All one summer I worked as a grinder in an area they called the Cleaning Room where we removed the risers from the castings via 8 to 16 pound sledge hammers, depending upon the size of the point or adapter. We also did the rough grinding of the casting and finally the finish grinding in which we ground the points to properly fit the adapter. You referred to them as teeth, in the industry they were called points. The adapter is the portion welded to the bucket lip. The completed buckets were also fabricated at the same plant facility. A major part of ESCO's business at that time was the wear parts for earth moving equipment of all kinds. Drag line buckets of up to 105 cubic yards were being produced at the Portland sight and at their Danville Illinois plant. Nick, North West Farmer

I ABSOLUTELY agree with clearing all the trees out. You leave some trees for shade! A farm needs open and clear fields.

I remember when I was a kid so in mid 1960s there was a local clearing company that had a D8 with a tree plow and a D7 with a brush rack. They cleared lots of fence rows and wooded areas. Great 👍 work

How fitting for the new Ecko bucket teeth to be painted Forest Green. I swear in these videos I can almost hear you smiling as you run your dozer. This takes me back more than 40 years when I worked for a contractor clearing building sites. I haven't since experienced anything more satisfying than tearing through a grove of brush on a Cat.

Always nice to have the teeth 'fixed' and replacing old worn out ones would be wonderful! Those originals did some pretty tough hours. Burn piles are going to be be a pyromaniac's dream. Squeaky clean clearing going well too.

You gotta get a metal grate for the bulldozer to protect yourself from angry trees that want to jab like a few did today. All it takes is one coming at the right angle and you're getting coloring books for Xmas for a long time.

Love the progress you're making with this clearing. The owners have to be thrilled with the wonderful job you're doing. Glad you got the new teeth. Boy howdy were those worn down! You got good work from them: 2 large ponds, a few small (at least 3), acres of clearing, and loads of dirt moving. Well done sir.

Dozer operators have to have their head on a swivel or end up with a black eye or worse. Constant attention is required and the body is bone tired when done the days work. Years of experience is evident when watching Chris work the different machines. Don a new hat for each piece of equipment. Get distracted and maybe get hurt. Love watching our boy fulfill folks dreams. He has made my cancer battles easier to endure these last few years. Hope I get to hang around and see many more projects.

The D6 is definitely the tool for this job ! Moving the brush a second time not only opens it up but you are getting most of the dirt out, great job Chris !

Those Ultralock chisel teeth were very likely cast at the ESCO facility in Newton, MS... about 19 miles from my home. It's even possible that one (or some) of my friends who work there poured, flashed, and/or painted those very teeth.

People used to tease me about wearing my winter coveralls during the summer when I cleared logged over sites. I did not have a cage on my D9 either. And it did not take me long to learn about all of the spears and whips that came at me. You are lucky that the area was already stumped. That CAT sure saves you a lot of wear and tear in the Volvo and Komatsu.

Every time I see you change bucket teeth I'm always amazed how much they wear.

I would love to spend 20 minutes on that D8. My dad had a Ford 4500 with bucket and backhoe and loved to play Dave the Destroyer clearing trees on the back forty.

Being an excavator operator there is nothing like a new set of teeth on the bucket !!@ sometimes a new cutting edge on a grading bucket can be aggrevating until it's worn in a little bit and the corners are a little rounded

To put some of my earlier comments about clearing land I realize things are very different now, . When we started none of the Cats had hydraulic systems. Our dozer ran on cables from the rear mounted winch. New operators would frequent ‘snap’ the cables by not releasing the dozer lift soon enough. That would shut us down for about 4+ hours . Handling cables at minus 40F was never fun. If we broke down a parachute was put over the dozer so we could work under it. The Cat ran 24/7 since if they were shut off we could only start them when the weather warmed. With milder temperatures we could pour gasoline in the crank Cade to thin the oil. After it started the x gasoline would evaporate out of the oil. Smaller diesels were started on gasoline and the switched to diesel after they were warmed up. Times have surely changed.😊😊😊

I watch a video from dirt perfect this morning. When starting their brush pile. They took a yard blower and a long pvc pipe. It help to get the fire burning hotter. Something that might help you.

Some of those logs are getting pretty up close and personal

Hey Chris, maybe this winter, or off season, if you have either of those, you could consider installing some sort of screen around the ROPS on the D6. You know your needs better than us, of course, but it would help alot of us breathe easier! 🤣 Lol!

Chris take it from me get you some side and rear screen protection about 10 years ago I had a small poplar tree come out of nowhere and hit me in the face and broke my nose just looking out for you buddy! Jobs looking good tho!

You should always auction old bucket teeth with signatures for your choice on where the proceeds are donated each year or how ever long the teeth last.
