In this segment, I start building the neck for the guitar. It is to be a three-piece neck made primarily with black walnut, but with a thin center strip of curly maple. I show myself cutting and joining the pieces and roughing out the neck and peghead. The video concludes with shaping the tenon and opening up the mortise in the head block.
The next video will describe fashioning the peghead, shaping the heel, gluing the neck to the body, and so forth.
