If not a gym, then start making fire pits around your place and invite people over for s'mores and roasted wieners more often. That would probably encourage other ideas.

Nice work. Speaking as a builder who specialized in historic restorations including several old log structures, and as a lifelong camper/ hunter/ woodsman I think you did it all right. I would suggest chinking the walls with mud or moss if it's available. You'll be surprised how much wind can get through those small cracks. the space blanket reflectors in the lean tos are a nice touch. They help a lot on a cold night.

Tip: When making a point on a stick. Make it 2 sided like an arrow head (2 flat sides & 2 angled point sides) stick go in easier (less resistance) & U have better control of angle.

It's good to be heard! LOL. I was in hospital for those 5 months with an infection in my spine. GAWD! Tried to kill me. BUT...this old desert rat does not die easy. So I'm back home and under therapy to get my legs back...and making great progress I am happy to say. I was pretty weak after all of that down time. Looking forward to getting back out....back-of-beyond. Always love your videos and I have a lot of catching up to do in that department. Stay well my friend. >;)

Awe, man! Sorry to hear that. I'm a dog lover and when I lost my two German shepherds, one after the other ( RIP Max and Sasha, my best friends in all the world), I felt worse than at any time in my adult life ( except when my mother died when I was twenty- one). It is truely heart- breaking.

I've been watching your videos for quite a few years now, your work (for your age) is well thought out and learned ( frequently practiced) . You've found a niche in the survival community. You are doing phenomenal- no matter what do not quit. Your tyroid issue you talked about a few days ago- follow Dr.s instructions to the letter but stay in an environment that allows you to keep blooming.

Just a little tip (I know it's now December 2020) when striking with a hammer! Keep your hand as far away from the hammer head! Let the weight of the hammer head do most of the work!! Love your work Lilly!!

Lilly this is absolutely amazing!! I am astounded at the level of craftsmanship and knowledge this displays and please,for the Love of God IGNORE the silly trolls and keep doing what you do. Question? So Y did U cut the plastic off. Rather than lay a log on it & roll >under< it 2wards the shelter. Thus weighting down the edge with the log & using the plastic 2 divert the water away from the inside???

Reminds me of the huts we used to build in the woods as kids... I bet at least 1 of them is still standing. Wouldn't bother humping so much stuff into the woods on my lonesome though, but maybe for shits and giggles and for old times sake I might build a longer term shelter somewhere more remote.

Great job, your shelter is pretty elaborate. It would make a great semi permanent shelter. Something to consider if this is used in a real scenario, try to never cut your role of tarp if possible. You never know when you might need a whole piece again. The role can be tied back together but it will weaken the integrity of it.

Girlfriend you are one amazing lady!! Love that you are teaching us ladies we can be self efficient and build shelters and survive on our own merit! You are prime example of women's strength and great role model for the rest of us. Thank you for sharing. I'd love to see you build and teach us to build a shelter using only primitive tools and supplies. Can't always be lucky enough to have a tarp and rope to use.
