We are currently putting up our own panels starting at 4 X 400 watt solar panels( 1.6 Kw max), this will never be grid tied and on a separate wiring system, all the energy will be ours via battery storage and a pure sine wave inverter, our roof is not going to be owned by solar companies or the national grid. Grid tie PV is a no-go, better to install as an island power system and segregate loads that your system can handle, like refrigerators or freezer or lights, or with larger systems a mini-split HVAC system…
