Having a strong mental fortitude is probably the wish of every man of today. Being able to confidently & comfortably handle painful, arduous, irritating and even dangerous circumstances is personally extremely appealing and inspiring. However, humans are emotional creatures by default and love the path of least resistance, and should circumstances don't cater to our emotions, we flip out and try to mitigate the negative effects through expressing their opposites.
But through expressing those emotions, we release ourselves off of control and let those circumstances control us instead of the opposite. We become emotionally attached to those circumstances. So how can we build a mind that can handle all these negative circumstances so that they would not shake us emotionally off balance when we encounter them?
I made a video a couple of weeks ago on how we could utilize & take advantage of the effects negative circumstances in life to constructively move forward. Here is mostly similar, but it is more on how we can neutralize & dismiss the effects. In the end they both are all about mindset shift

The Samurai used to have the practice of anticipating death. They would visualize themselves dying different ways in battle to conquer the fear of it when it comes. This is almost the same thing. If you think that it can happen, you become strong against in case it does actually happen. You're not so shocked and taken off guard. It's those that don't have negative visualization are the ones that break when the boom is lowered on them.

You know negative visualization does run the risk though, for some, or living in a sort of emotional reality that doesn’t exist. A lot of people can not not be emotional when visualizing worst case scenarios. So keep that in mind - you could also be just spiraling about nonsense at times and draining your mental vitality. Something to consider.
@Forged88
@Forged88 2 жыл бұрын
I'm aware of that. I never said it to be something thst you should obsessively do. Just be prepared and don't be surprised about negative circumstances that's all. Maybe the way I'm explaining it sounds a bit too intense. Thank you for your feedback mate

It is a very useful tool indeed but if it gets uncontrollable it may be the root of neuroticism and like said in the video a pessimistic mind,I like to think of the good possibilities and aim my best to make them happen,in case things go south,that's where this tool kicks in,so it should not be a primary tool or focus of thought but kind of a sidearm to deal with these situations,in the end,all comes down to situational awareness and not overthinking. I guess it goes that way,if you guys agree or disagree please consider posting your perspective.
@Forged88

Thank you for the extra clarity Henrique. I never preach to be an extremists, this tool is just a reminder that the state of our emotions dictate out perceptions, and if we are overly positive or always positive, it can default us to ignore the possibilities of the negatives, which will make us mentally and emotionally unprepared to deal with them.

From my experience, Negative Visualization also has the benefit of making you more tolerant of others as well as making you appreciate the good things. You can tolerate people more if you don't expect them to be like that idealized image of a rational, moral all around good guy that can't do any wrong whatsoever that society tries to promote and accept the fact that humans are inherently flawed and they can make errors, misjudgments or get swayed by emotions. And when you see people doing good among a sea of bad, you'll really appreciate them no matter how small their good deeds seem to be at face value.

@@Forged88 I understand but you are the creator. You bring into your world what you think about. Wouldn't it be dangerous to focus on the negative? My life is better now that I changed that mindset that your saying to have. I understand the concept though. I was reading a book As a man Thinketh. It put its into perspective real well. No offense by the way I just don't agree. What your saying about James Bond is more like reading the room or when your already in a threatening situation instead of avoiding altogether. I focus on my vision and I deal with the opposition accordingly.

Nah…I disagree with this. What we need to understand is that negativity will happen and to acknowledge it when it happens. Being aware that it can happen is enough to fight it. Spending time in visualization negativity WILL affect you negatively. When you are aware that it can happen set a rule like…I will give this negative emotion 2 mins then begin resolving that emotion. I guess there are many ways of dealing with situations. I just believe my way is more productive. And at the end of the day what you believe becomes your reality.
@Forged88
@Forged88 2 жыл бұрын
It will affect you negatively only if you can't bring yourself to accept it. Your reality is how you perceive things, if you treat negative circumstances negatively then it would be so, but if you treat it as a constructive tool then it would be so
