Build a private deck off the area where your bedroom windows are located.. Easy to replace a window with a door that opens out. You can have a morning coffee or and nightcap. No facing your parents home! God bless you.

I had the big home for 17 years growing the family. Kids all left so we down sized to a 20x20 tiny home. Now we raise our grandson and still think it is still the best for us. Always remember" love grows best in little houses" ❤️ you Will love it.

This sounds like an excellent plan ! Watching houses being built is always cool to see. I'm also glad to hear you found a safe place after what you went through at the last place.

Yappy if you purchase land and are willing to find a way…there are 2 I have seen several ways of doing. First would be a trailer. The other option shed to home. They have some large sheds. That is framed painted and they have the roofs as well. Good luck. Forgot to mention if you do the shed once your house…keep it and use it company.

Awesome! Guys. We bought our first home 6 years ago its 2500 sq feet and I loose things and its just alot of cleaning and upkeep for us we both work full time. Looking back i wish we went a bit smaller

Believe it or not, my Wife and I rented an attic space above my parents house to save money when we got married. We didn’t have a kitchen so we had to use my parents. So you’re definitely better off. It looks like a nice place. Definitely stay there a year or so, save money and let some prices come down. Everything is so expensive right now. Great to see you guys.

We live in 644 sq ft . The key is organization and a storage unit . We still have seasonal items and can store extra items we need . Best wishes on this endeavor.

Smart thinking! A lot of people nowadays consider living away from the city and build their own tiny house. We will send this video to our clients to get nice ideas ✨

Before they start drywall. Add access to as much of the eaves as you can. A door at the end of kitchen to the unfinished eave for seldom used items, like Christmas decorations, off-season clothing, camping & hunting gear, etc. If your couch or a chair sits infront of the door, it isn't too much hassle to move it once in a while to access that storage. At the other end where you talked about closet, shoe storage, etc. Sit as much of that as you can, into the eaves. Yes, it takes a bit more framing, but you will never regret using that wasted space.

Very lucky to have this as an option available to you.

Congratulations! That's a smart move with todays economy. I & my new husband had to do the same thing in the 80's, believe it or not, so that we could afford a house (income was lower then). Your "tiny house" is twice as large as ours was. 😂 Keep your walls light in color to keep a roomy look. Use most of your colors in the accessories that you add to each room. At least your not sharing the inside of your parents home & you have your own space. You'll get used to it. Love knows no bounds. 👍❤️

Love this idea. Wondering about the kitchen- considering headspace, would it work to put counters and stove on the other side? Then exhaust could be vented out through the roof, and since lower cabinet depth is 24in anyway, you’d clear more headspace standing in front of it. If cabinets are installed closest to the stairs, your heads may not clear once the drywall for ceiling is put in
