Before you blow up the comments, yes, we are still working on the Tesla swapped C10 Squarebody. We have some big updates coming for you guys very soon! We're also plugging away at the twin turbo Delorean and are going to get the DMC12 fired up and ripping on this channel shortly!
But for now, we're introducing our newest project here at the shop. We're building a Twin Turbo LSX Chevelle! To start a project like this, we wanted a good foundation. So we called up our friends at Roadstershop and got a Spec Series Chassis. This roller came ready with brake lines, a complete rear end, and just about everything we need to drop our SS Chevelle body right on top! This plug and play chassis is going to cut down a lot of the time and stress of fabricating a chassis ourselves, like we dealth with making the one for the EV truck. As cool as this chassis is, it isn't even the best part of this build. We're plucking out the 454 big block that came stock in this all American muscle car and stuffing in an LSX straight from Chevy Performance. If that wasn't enough, we're putting on two Garrett mirror images turbos, because who doesn't love boost? We're tying all of our electrical components together with a Holley Dominator kit and Racepack control board. The exterior of this Chevelle is getting some flair with radiused wheel wells, a wider stance, and a tucked in front bumper to compliment the new paint job that we'll be laying down in future episodes! We're going to take this bright orange Chevelle and make it look mean, sound mean, and ready to eat up some tires. Make sure to subscribe so you don't miss a single step of this all-in build!

Love seeing resto-mods! With the power we can drop in to these old cars. They just aren't safe with the old chassis and suspension. Love what you have planned for this. I expect you to keep your promise about "Small adjustment" to the fenders. NO BOLT ON FENDER FLARES!!! LOL

Love the '70 Chevelle but I have to admit I have my "doubts" about cutting the wheel arch's like that. Fortunately the car is in great hands with S2S so I'm thinking we'll see something spectacular!!

A visions of sugar plums danced in my head! Great build, perfect chassis, drivetrain setup! Thanks for sharing this information! I asked around, wow nobody wanted the OEM chassis or drivetrain! A 454 used to be the pinnacle engine, then the 502 and 572, but the LS has killed that business.

@@SalvagetoSavage here’s a thought, if you have scales, weigh the full car before and after to see the weight savings , maybe a chassis dyno pull also. Let’s see an apples to oranges test. Or cement to balsa wood! in this instance.

Somebody with the money will jump on that chassis. As much as I would like to, my 72 is so far from a priority. Unless it was free 99, I couldnt justify it. Focused on Christmas for my 9 yr old. Maybe in another 5 years when it will mean something to my son, we will do a crude 5.3 junkyard swap, or whatever we can do for pennies,

Yes! The customer wants this to be more drivable in the Florida weather than we have Chaching set up for, so we have to put a hood on

I would like to respectfully comment on engine choice... Replacing an original 454/425hp from the era that is well sought after? Not to mention cost of obtaining one. Now the car loses value and much research of crate motors has taught me why I wouldn't want one. However, I do love your work and fab is incredible. And finally, yes, I know it's not my car. Just believe the mark has been missed for the engine. Chassis is my pick as well. Will it be powder coated before the marriage? If so why have the parts previously installed?

Paul we are building a RestoMod, with all the newest components of a modern sports car. The value of this car will exceed any stock chevelle with a big block. Trust me. As far as the chassis goes, yes it will get coated. On projects of this caliber, the car is built then it’s completely taken apart and sent out for paint.

Don’t butcher the body. Leave it alone. Do it as close to OEM looking as possible. Don’t worry about the wheels going up in the arches. Don’t make no “Donk Car” out of this.

I don't see the point of a regular guy building a street car with twin turbos with 1000+ HP. The fastest hill climb cars have less power and need crazy suspension and aero...AND an experienced racing driver.
