Very nice suspension upgrades that should help significantly with handling. My only concern is connecting it all to a non boxed frame that will twist like a hula dancer. Great kits are made to stiffen both Chev and Ford perimeter frames.

buddy i have my grandmothers 66 two door post with the original 327, power glide and 12 bolt rear-end. yes i know the post came with a straight 6 and 10 bolt rear-end. but my grandmother ordered her 66 post from the factory with the 327 and 12 bolt. cos my dad talked her into getting the V8 and better rear-end. im sososoo glad he did.. lol

Came for the episode. Stayed for the people griping about not being able to afford the parts and tools shown. And that they could make the old parts perform just as good as the new parts. All while only spending$97.39 doing it.

Well, we live in the times of "I want it now, with no work involved"... all those "showing up trophies" has it's effects. Cracks me up that young'ns will drop 1k on a phone, and 150 a month to use it, but balk at the thought of car part prices.

I looked up the qa1 basic kit for our 64 malibu. $1400 with shocks plus the disc brake kit. Not too bad for a more performance suspension. I plan to replace it soon. May go stock refurbish? Then spend on the brake kit or find a cheaper alternative. I'd like it close to stock but man the drum brakes are horrid and like to be stuck almost everytime we get it out of storage for a weekend drive. Current leaf spring set up and stock front can be a wallowing handful when I open her up a little and stretch her legs. IMO, she deserves all the money I can afford to throw at her. Being a 55 year old survivor.

This is awesome, we have a 64 Malibu that could use the basic kit. I plan to start restoration on it soon and already planned new suspension and disc brakes so it's safer to drive and occasionally beat on. It was done up twenty years ago and driven occasionally then we've been storing it for awhile now as other expenses arose. My house is within a year of being paid in full and then I'm gonna start on it. Every classic muscle car deserves restoration!! Too many older vehicles dissappeared. My dad inlaw has a beautifully built 31 A model setting next to the Malibu in heated garage I can't wait for them to be similarly bada$$. He has a blower on his small block tho. I may go LS or matching edelbrock aluminum heads on our 350. It's got that matching performer rpm intake and carb so far but could use a freshen up and more power parts. Powerglide needs freshen up too. Great video guys! I didn't know these kits existed yet.

Nice upgrades but very costly. Unless it's a track car you don't really need the double adjustable shocks, I run the single coil overs on my '94 Camaro and they are perfect for on the street. I will be converting my Chevelle to C6 corvette brakes using a newly developed spindle which allows using all GM parts, including the sealed type wheel bearing assembly. The control arms don't really need to be changed unless the ball joints are worn or you want to install polygraphite bushings. My car came with the factory 12 bolt, easily strong enough, no need for a Ford 9-inch.

Cool build and upgrades but be careful with those old frames. They were designed to have some flex, stiffening them up that much can lead to cracking when driven hard. Especially in the front around the A-arms and spring mounts.

Dan Pierson It was about $3,900 for the QA1 Stage 3 suspension kit for my 66 Chevelle. The rear end was $4,180 shipped. But it ordered the quick change option so it’s about 1/3 more expensive. I’ve been saving for 4 years to build my Chevelle. If I can do it- anyone can.
