Build an Amazing Calamansi Farm! A step by step guide on how to start a Calamansi Farm!
Our aim to provide simple guidance to those interested to pursue a Calamansi Farm business.
Basic information to get before starting:
1. Soil Type - soil testing will provide good information on the kind of soil your farm have & will allow you to make adjustments should there be an deficiencies required by our plant
2. Water Source & Distribution system - Availability of abundant fresh water is a MUST have, similarly its distribution system.
3. Climate - mainly on how long does the farm enjoy available sunlight. Planting orientation according to the sun rise sun set direction will benefit the plant immensely
Steps in Planting Calamansi:
1. Land Preparation - Harrowing / Plowing
2. Planting Distance measurement & plotting, planting distance for Calamansi should not be less than 3m X 3m
3, Actual Planting
4. Watering & Monitoring
The growing guide for optimum plant growth & health is also provided. Adjustment can be made based on your actual farm observation and requirements.

salamat sir sa very informative video, sobra yata sa abono calamansi ko, nag 2x per month ako mula naitanim ko. now 3 months old na calamansi koat malulusog naman po dahil nga siguro sa abono, first 2 months urea lang ako, then 3rd month nag 16-20-0, lalo lumusog at lumabas ang new branches. meron po total 860 puno sa calamansi farm ko. more video tutorials please. thank you.

For maintenance po 2x a month (liquid fertilizer & if needed may kasama po insecticide / fungicide) If mag aalaga po ng bulaklak 4x po. May video po kami sa pagpapabulaklak ng Calamansi

Sir, these are all very good informations. Thank u. I just habe a question, pano po maiwasan ang “inside job” ng pwedeng magawa ng mga caretakers? Especially kung hindi naman live in ang may-ari sa kanyang farm. TIA po. Sana masagot nyo tanong ko. God bless!

Hello po. I think wala pong isang straight answer or formula sa tanong ninyo. Sa experience po namin if hindi po kayo satisfied a performance ng caretaker ninyo ay dapat nyo syang palitan kahit pa kamag-anak nyo sya. Second is tutok po dapat kayo sa farm and know everything, may tendency na mag abuso ang caretaker especially if alam nila sa sa kanya kayo naka asa. Inside job can cover hindi lang yun harvest but all other inputs like fertilizers, insecticides, equipment. So lagi namin kinakamusta and very specific po kami kung mag report. Lastly if may scheduled harvest kayo make it a point na nasa farm kayo 1 or 2 days before. Admittedly hindi po 100% guarantee na walang inside job but our practices as indicated above intends to limit the opportunity for abuse. Lastly try po kami to establish na may both respect and fear sila amin.

Very informative for beginners like me. Sir matanong lang po, ano po ang longer life span, ang grafted, budded or marcotted? ano pong marerecomend nyo sa tatlo? salamat sa sagot

Hello, budded and grafted po are the same process. Sa life span po halos nagkakapareho lang especially if tama and consistent ang protocol. Sa marcott need nyo malaman gaano kagaling magbunga yung mother plant since cloning yun process. May areas po na grafted ang predominantly available (Luzon) and may areas na marcottee naman (VisMin)

Sir, saan po ba kayo naka base? Im planning to plant calamansi here sa amin sa mindanao. Gusto ko sanang ma tutunan ang lahat ng ins and out before po ako mag start. Maari po bang mag paturo sa inyo po or baka may seminars po kayo tungkol sa calamansi farming. :)

Nasa Region 4 po kami sir. Maganda po ang Climate Type ng Mindanao. Very ideal sa Calamansi. Aside sa technical aspect of planting, research po kayo sa market nyo dyan sa area.

Depende po sa topography ng lupa ninyo. Deep well pa din po ang isa sa best option ninyo. May initial investment pero matipid na sya in the long term. If maganda ang patubig ninyo (depending on the number of trees and harvest volume) and kaya ninyong mabawi ang irrigation investment in 2-3 cropping cycles.

Sir, i love your channel. Dami ko natutunan. But I have a question that’s been bothering me. pano po ang sistema na ginawa nyo regarding sa pagbabantay ng mga kalamansi para nde ito manakaw or ma-inside job ng mga caretaker? Lalo na kung malayo ang farm sa may-ari. Thank u po sa response nyo.

If may doubt pa kayo sa care taker ninyo baka hindi pa sya ang para sa farm ninyo. One strategy is make them be part ng farm in a way. Provide kayo ng incentive sa good harvest or similar added benefit sa kanila. Dapat na may magkahalong respeto at takot sila sa inyo (not easy to balance).

Wala po talagang sure way na prevent ang mga tulisan. Makakanakaw sila kung talagang gugustuhin. One other suggestion is stay sa farm nyo one or two days before the harvest.

sir, yung lot ng nanay ko, maraming prehistoric rocks/dolomite rocks and some parts only shallow lang ang lupa. pwede kaya to taniman ng calamansi? do their roots not need go deep po ba?

May roots po na palalim ang direction at may roots na nagspread. If sobrang shallow baka po hindi sya lumaki or matumba ng strong winds later on. Pero try nyo po magtanim mg ilang pieces muna to see.

Pwede po in general. Suggest po na mapa soil test para makita nyo ang soil nutrient & acidity level. Need po tambakan ang area na possible tigilan ng tubig. Maganda po ang ilang rice fields converted to Calamansi farm especially since parating naararo so madaling madevelop ang roots.
