Quick and efficient jerk repetitions in kettlebell sport can make the difference between winning and losing. In this video, I'm joined by teammate Matt as I coach him through making his jerks more explosive.

What's the best verbal cue you know to make your jerk more explosive?

Whenever I jerk I think about bouncing the elbows off the hips and that helps

I know when my jerk is going to be go well right before I go into the movement when I know my hand placement is correct (right at the beginning of the bend of the handle), and if I feel proper tightness in my forearm and bicep. I also like to think about punching up and out from my chest as opposed to straight up from my shoulders.
