Honestly, my favorite moments on this series involve when you build on camera, seeing the back and forth on how you want a thing to look like is very entertaining, and it definitely pays off how much you think about your builds and their environment. Last week, I decided to full on check Madinah, like, everything you built there, it took me a good one and a half, maybe even two hours to do that, and I just kept thinking about how much stuff you put into that city; I specially liked the apartment-complex part of the city compared to the big houses, which I assume are from the two houses that sponsor those towers of the city's wall, and I also liked how interconnected the whole city was, you could pass from alleyway to alleyway to wynd. It may be one of your bigger builds but even the small ones are full details, so I appreciate the effort of your interior-making even If at times you may find it a bit repetitive and difficult (or so it is my impression). Anyway, this is to say, I find the contrast between the kennelmaster's house and the blacksmith's a bit funny, I think they would be a fun duo, or maybe they hate each other. Also, I feel like there should be a little bit more of decoration showcasing the blacksmith's work, but as you say, that creates lag, specially with the armor stands and item frames you would probably need. Also also, did the smith do the fancy armor of the previous episode's knight? Cheers! and I hope you recover soon.

I'm glad you enjoyed the building this episode, next episode I want to do the same. Also really happy you got the chance to check out Madinah in person! It holds a special place in my heart, and it's a really unique build. I think in my lore I want to talk about some of the fun characters around Castle Leslie like the smith, kennelmaster, headsman, and the court wizard. I also think you're right about the smithy area needing a bit more detail work. Thank you for the comment :)

For the most part, realistically, a castle this size would probably only be able to hold as many as 10 or 12 people outside of the Lord and his family. But i do understand the idea that this is fantasy. Also, You can place ladders on the sides of beds? Or did you use the debug stick?

I use the /setblock command in chat. Also I find it easier to buff up the population of the world with barracks and bunk beds because if I wanted to place the same amount of beds in a village it would be spread over 20 houses, so its a worldbuilding shortcut haha

I wonder how many guards garrison the castle.

I think right now the capacity is at roughly 27? I think its a variable number though, depends on season, peace/wartime, how much cash you have to pay the ducal guards, how much you can enforce feudal obligations of guard service

For being short on time you covered a lot! You're a work-horse! ...and while sick too...

Lol I certainly try. I'm always happy to see your comments on my builds, having these regular interactions in my comment section keeps me motivated to work more at my builds

I guess the families live in housing outside the curtain wall?

Yeah, these are workin folk who don't get the space to house their families within the castle, save for the blacksmith and kennelmaster, and maybe some minor officials.
