I had the great job of removing about 50. 2-56 screws that a guy used red 271 loctite instead of 222 purple. Drilling out stainless steel screws out of an aluminum piece really socks! If you don't know , 2-56 screws are about the size of a pencil lead

That rivalry between Ford and Chevy is one of the best. My best friend was a Chevy guy. Of course I’m a Ford guy. after 50 years he finally came over. He Has a Ford Bronco now. Your channel,Matts off-road recovery channel is some really great stuff. Oh yeah, don’t forget the guy with the jeep 😂 and the other big guy trail Mater. Fab rats,you guys are the best. While you are correct in saying that the bottom of your differential casing is the limit of your ground clearance, what you have done with that low crossmember is going to destroy your ramp breakover angle. It's going to make heck of a difference to the Broncstar's off-road ability.

Robby, you're wrong. To clear the front or rear diff, you can drive up on a rock, log, or anything that will lift one side or the other. The mid ground clearance or your break over clearance is dictated by your wheelbase, and your tire size, as well as your static height of the lowest point of(usually) your skid plate. I am at 23"" on my skid plate, when my rig was 108" wheel base, it wasn't much of an issue, but when I linked it and stretched it to 120" wheel base, it made a lot of difference on break over which has caused me to turtle several times. I'd ditch the double cardiian (sp) joint, they just don't hold up. As short as the Bronc Star is, just make it a two seater, and run a rear radiator, which works great for an open rig like the BS, in the winter you can reverse the fan connections polarity and let it blow warm air into the cab, works great for defrost too.

You guys need to look at a timing cover, water pump and serpentine belt setup off of a 1996-2001 5.0 Explorer. It’s a very compact setup. The intake and heads from the Explorer 5.0 are also something you might want to look at. They are the “GT40” heads and intake, they make more power than the truck parts you are currently running. Best of luck with the build!
@MrDan1509
@MrDan1509 10 ай бұрын
The intake runners are too short, no low-end torque for wheeling!
@turk71385
@turk71385 10 ай бұрын
@@MrDan1509That's possible, but if you watch the videos where they are running these hard, they aren't exactly staying in the "low-end" for anything. Low-end torque or high-end horse power, aftermarket would be better than either stock intake for that. The Explorer acessory drive would be much better setup for that chassis though. I made the same comment on the last video, but I doubt they looked or cared. They'd rather beat their heads against a brick wall making what they have work. I know the type, I work with a bunch of them and can be one myself at times.

Its true you only clear what your axle clears except for your break over like climbing over a large boulder and you belly out. But you have to do what you have to do wo make what you have work. But it would benefit if you were able to raise it. Belly clearance is completely different than axle clearance for different reasons.

In non vibration connections green is the hardest to remove you need both heat and torque to remove ….we used it on timers and any connections that once set they never need to be adjusted again…Red is similar to green but will also take vibrations so perfect for places where you can’t get a wrench on later to check tightness…Blue is a slight weaker then green or red..normally great for smaller bolts and install chrome parts etc where you don’t want to heat to remove….. I use red on my motorcycle motors and blue for frame fenders flares etc…still do a week tightness check on street rider..
