Great stuff as always. I'm thinking of bio. Digester in jamaica but as a viewer said if tissue can out go in and I can't control its use when I'm not there and the property is rented, then I may scratch the idea. I'll,probably do more research on that. Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing your journey. 👊🏾🇯🇲🇬🇧

Appreciate your content brother, it’s well put together and a wealth of knowledge. It’s helping me step by step as I complete my house in Suyani. But it’s shocking from looking at the price of the building materials just a year ago how much it has risen. My god cement is averaging about 60ghc per bag 🤦🏾‍♂️, it made nearly cry 😢 when I saw how much just cement would cost for my project. The hidden cost in building a home isn’t easy oo but thank you 🙏🏿 again for your content.

You have made the right decision to use a septic tank with a soakaway, bio-digester can not handle all the wastewater of a household. You cannot flush toilet tissue in a bio-digester system. Water leakage can easily overwhelm the system.

I'm trying to watch your videos in the order of upload but I think (based on your pricing sheet) that I missed Stage C. What video was that covered in? Your videos are a great help for me to now understand what my mum is doing whilst she builds her house so thank you very much! 🙂

I believe that the only drawback some people have with the bio-digester is that you can not use conventional cleaning products and toiletries which may affect the biological and biochemical processes. But I am pretty sure the use of organic cleaning products and toiletries (e.g. locally made black soap would suffice) and would be healthier for soil and ground water all round.

I wanted to add the link to my comment earlier but it wouldn't let me. You could probably add it to your resources or description if other folks find it useful. Hi Asher & Gad, thanks for sharing these awesome videos with us. I am about to make a choice between a biodigester and a sceptic tank but I am curious whether the siting of a sceptic tank won't affect the quality of water from a borehole. Do you care to share how far is your sceptic tank from the bore hole and why you were not concerned about the water from the tank sipping into the source of water for the borehole.

it needs to be at least 5m away or more if you can. Ours is abour 15-20m away so no issues. remember you can't clean your toilet with chemicals if you go for a biodigester I believe - but check on that

@@kingstal90 thanks for your videos but that’s no wholly true. Digesters done with wiremesh had those problems, with with the newly designed ones using porous as filtration that statement is out of the window. I have a video on it. Pls check it out here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hriXmqVhuq7JYYk.html

Great information! I saw that you converted all the water waste into the septic tank, wouldn't that fill up the tank very quickly?

No, if it's a septic tank with a soakaway, you wouldn't have any problem for years. The actual problem is many people fill the soakaway pit with stones which reduces the holding capacity of the soakaway and ability to drain.
