Good stuff Jonathon. Really nice outdoor relaxing area you have there. I'm very interested in your vegetable garden and seeing it progress. Might be on my list of things to do around here. I'm starting to do some rehab on my pergola that nearly killed me building it a few years ago. I'll comment with pictures on your Facebook page. Enjoyed the video y'all. Is your pergola rusting? Has the Canopy had rain pool and ruin the supporting roof braces? Mine is a mess in only a week.

We took the canopy off for the winter. There was pooling after each rain. It didn’t seem to affect the braces. We have harsh winters and it seems to have survived. We will be putting the canopy back on in April. I will check for rust then.

Good idea with pushing back the canopy. How has it held up against the wind so far? Also, how did you anchor it to the ground?

It’s held up to the wind just fine. We attached the pergola to two pressure treated planks. They are not anchored at all. The weight of the pergola is enough to keep it in place.

How did you install the cement screws, like did you just bolt them into the cement from the top down or did you use anchors?

It is not fastened to the cement patio. It’s anchored to the treated planks that it sits on. We have had it up for a year now, including one winter and it doesn’t move. Even in strong winds.

Does it have anchoring points for the frame?

Yes it does. At the base of each post.

Is this waterproof ?

The canopy is waterproof. Though it is designed to be a sunshade. Water does pool on the canopy and I use a broom to push up and drain it. Watch our latest video posted this week about how the pergola did over the winter.
