In this first episode of building my dream garage, I decided it made the most sense to tackle one of the biggest jobs first, and that was a new Epoxy floor. The current floor was so faded and old looking, and he transformation with the new epoxy was insane! I'm only halfway through the video but I gotta tell you I painted my garage walls black and I had to change it to a lighter gray because the dark walls sucked up all the light and made it harder to see when working on things. Just my personal experience I thought I'd share

Came to say the same thing! Even with 48" leds everywhere it still absorbed so much light. Went with slate gray with an ounce of white mixed in to lighten it just a smidge in each gallon I used.

If you can't get a 4post to store your cars I would totally suggest installing a ceiling fan/light combat in place of those old lights. It'll make working in there so much better in FL.

This looks so good! Definitely think next step should be lighting. That way you can decide a layout based on the areas best lit parts and also colours of the walls based on the lighting. Daylight leds always look better and from my experience and much easier on the eyes if you’re in there for a long time

Homeownership is such a fun ride. Definitely can be some downs and some frustrating times, but the overall swing is definitely up. Check out the Milwaukee line as well. The convenience is amazing. They even have an awesome rated push mower that outperforms a lot of the gas, in its same size range. It's just expensive at 1100 or 1200

def get a 4 post lift! Also easy jacks too because i know it tends to flood in Florida so the cars that are more important can be raised

That garage is going to look so good! One suggestion, you should build a couple false walls around the AC unit and water heater. Something that will hide them, but will also be able to remove it when need to service them.

Change to a wall mount garage door opener. It will open up more space for the lift. Also hit me up for some garage lighting. I’ll set you up for just a mention.

Hey Mike pro tip for future painting. Put a plastic bag or something that can conform to the paint tray so that you can just throw that out instead of the whole tray 🤓🤓. Learned that when I was painting my room and was doing an accent wall

It might be a possibility to raise a section of the roof up a little bit above whet the lift will go. It will reduce the crawl space slightly, but ah well.

First thing I did to my garage when I bought my house was lighting!! Got some lights on Amazon that chain together and screw into the ceiling! It was pretty cheap and still go after 3 years

Dude you killed it on the floor and this video. Such an awesome job with the before and afters, the angles, editing and not to mention the floor turned out killer 👌 and it's just sick to see you already turning this house into your own 👍 I think that cinder block wall would look sick with some sort of design, logo or some art/ graffiti on it. Then just do the other 3 walls in a nice grey or black maybe even keep some white and do the ceiling in black.

Definitely keep up the home project coverage! How tall is your garage ceiling? How wide is the garage? Looks very similar to the dimensions of mine. I did a lot of research to fit a lift in when we got our new house last fall. You’re best bet would be getting a nice roll up style door, or the door rails that hang from the ceiling will be in the way of the upper car. Looks good so far!

the quickest way to make your garage look like a million bucks (well the first is to get all the junk out of it and clean it) but the second is to install some absurd overpowered neutral white led lights

I just came here to say the same thing. My husband has been doing epoxy floors for over 20 years. He should have just had a company come in and do it. He also did not give that floor near long enough to dry before putting the first coat down

Sometimes it do be that way when you’re adulting. I went into my local hardware store like 8 times in one day when I was getting my yard and pool prepped for the summer.
