Building The English Channel Tunnel

This documentary explains the building of the tunnel boring machines along with details of how the tunnel was built. The primary machines or "TBM's" were the size of submarines with lunch rooms,barracks and an infirmary. This was 150 years in the making. The difficulty was equal to landing a man on the moon. These were one off custom machines, an incredible undertaking and technological acheivment.

The gratuitous remarks and personal insults ruined the whole experience of watching this. No wonder the UK quit the EU.

what a stupid comment. i worked on the project and it was only due to the international cooperation that it got done. The personal comments are just that and do not reflect contribution made by all those working on it. I also find the the title "English Channel Tunnel" an insult to Irish Scots and Welsh that worked together with the English, French, Americans, Canadians, Japanese and many other nationalities. That said Hand tunnels were the best and mostly Irish.

Of course there have never been any gratuitous remarks and personal insults coming from the UK to our European cousins. Thanks to Brexit for ruining the simplistic and pleasure of travelling across the Channel.
