With food prices continuing to rise, we are learning to raise more of our own meat.
In this video I quickly build a pig pen from recycled and free materials, just in time to pick up our first piglets. These pigs are a heritage Tamworth breed and they are great at foraging and finding their own food by digging up the ground. This helps us by loosening the soil and churning up rocks, making it easier for us to grow vegetables here in the future. They also LOVE eating all the leafy green crop residues we are producing on the farm. They have been a welcome addition to our little farmstead and we look forward to harvesting them and raising more next season.
