What IKEA do you shop at? The other day I bought two lack tables at IKEA in Atlanta for $9 each (on sale from the normal $15)

It’s because he messed up and bought the nesting set that also comes with the smaller table, the set costs $25, so you’re right, LACKs cost $15

I had my 3D printer on a IKEA unit and because it is not solid wood it made it very loud. Other then that, nice clean build!

I got one of these exact things for my birthday from my dads old work friend in black. He put led strip lights around the inside top, had acrylic plastic glass around the top 4 sides surrounding the printer and one of them had a handle to open a door held with magnets. These tables make for great enclosures!

Just a heads up, that can damage your print quality as the temperature within the encloser slowly rises throughout the print. The good enclosers have fans and a temperature sensor to ensure it is constant

Looks nice (shiny white color). Good Job! :) But you could go to home depo, buy some laminated mfp (they can cut you the size you need) and make this stiffer - that ikea table is almost empty inside - its a cardboard honeycomb. Heavier furniture will improve quality of printing (vibration during changing direction of the printer's head) It is cheaper and more durable. I made few years ago a cabinet from laminated MFP with glass windows and glass doors. It was 1,8 m high, it has storage for tools, spools of filament, dimafix and spare parts like nozzles, bearings and belts.

The LACK tables still cost €7/€9 here, depending on color. They're pretty neat for enclosures, although personally I prefer the 60x60 PLATSA wardrobe cabinet (€35) with hinged door (€16) -- Nothing else needed, although you can easily expand it with other PLATSA elements, and they're very easy to mount soundproofing/filtration/lights in.

It’s actually a horrible implementation. Any 3d printer or CNC machine has to fight the momentum of its moving parts. The print head will move very fast then stop and change direction and this can make a light weight table shake. Why does shaking matter you ask, well when it shakes that shakes the whole system and it makes the print less accurate and can even cause a print failure. He needs to get a concrete block or something very heavy. My printer sits on an old dinner table and I still have a 2 foot by 2 foot concrete made 1 inch thick sitting under my printer.
