Fun watching these, I got a 2012 3 skyactiv sedan a few weeks back as my first car, so far I've done a corksport exhuast a front lip and got my vors tr4 wheels on today. In the near future I'm hoping to paint some side skirts and lip spoiler and put those on, hopefully I can also save up a little more money and maybe do some coilovers. Keep up the good work!

Excelent build, and I was definetly eyeing up that cold air intake and was worried it only fitted the automatic mazda 3s. I'm sure you've seen videos on the tube about the 2.0 supercharger kit that came out pretty recently. I hope that you could look into it, but other than that I can't wait to see your driving video, this 3 is sick!!!!

Hello from Europe.Super video, i liked it. I am planning to do this on my mazda.But i am considering if it's safe to loosen those rusted bolts on the stands witch you used(and witch i have too).Really dont want to drop the car onto myself.And second question is, how much wheight the whole subframe,approximately(with the control arms and everything, as you did it).Thanks.
@DrivingProduction
@DrivingProduction Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm happy you found it useful! I didn't feel unsafe doing it this way as the car was solidly planted on the stands and it didn't move at all. For the subframe part it was easier then I initially expected because I thought too the bolts were gonna be hard to take out with the rust, but the 4 main bolts that hold the subframe screw in, on the inside of the car so the tread is exposed to the elements. When I took them out they didn't look rusted at all. For the weight of the subframe with control arms I was still able to lift it by myself once it was out of the car, so I would say about 120-150 pounds, that too was lighter then expected. Hopefully this helps you out! 👍

Hey, I love your content. I have a Mazda 3 2.5 hatch and was wondering if the speed 3 shocks and springs would fit because I have a set in my garage that I would like to put some 1.5 lowering springs
@DrivingProduction
@DrivingProduction Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Happy you like it! Yes the speed shocks fit, it's actually something I'm planning on doing as I have a set also, but if you use the stock speed springs supposedly it raises the front of a regular Mazda 3 because the speed is heavier

It was possible not to make a cutout, the mps rear bumper fits perfectly on a 1.6\2.0+ hatchback. This is the easiest tuning, but for the front bumper you need to change the hood and wings
@DrivingProduction
@DrivingProduction 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's true! I did have the Speed3 rear bumper on my other Mazda3 that I took the parts from, and was debating swapping the bumper over to this one, but I would of have to get the bumper painted blue, that's why in the end I ended up just doing the cut out.

The subframes are pretty much the same there's a few small differences, like the way the struts mount on the 1st gens it has an extra bracket. But I'm sure you could make a second gen subframe work no problem.

Hey man, great vid! I have a couple questions I was hoping you could answer. Where did you get the rear sway bar, subframe and polyurethane bushings from? Do you notice a difference with the speed 3 front calipers, rear Mazda 5 bracket and braided brake lines? Does the 2.5l muffler negatively impact fuel economy or performance. Thanks
@DrivingProduction
@DrivingProduction 2 жыл бұрын
Hey happy you're enjoying the content! The rear sway bar, I got used off someone on marketplace with the springs, mazdaspeed exhaust and also got the front sway bar but never installed that one. The subframe I got it off eBay, I found a seller that would coat the subframe. The bushings are from Siberian Bushings, I've installed them before on my front control arms and they felt great for an entry level poly bushing considering the price. For the speed 3 calipers definitely more clamping power and actually made the steering feel a tad heavier, I also felt a bit of a difference with the Mazda 5 brakes under hard braking. The braided brake lindds definitely feel nice, they firm up the pedal. I haven't seen any performance draw back from using the 2.5 muffler or fuel economy, it's way quieter then the mazdaspeed one for sure borderline sounds like stock in the car. Let me know if you have any other questions,you can always reach out iin Instagram too! 👍

@DrivingProduction
@DrivingProduction Жыл бұрын
Hey that is a great question! By SP25 I'm assuming you're talking about one that is the same gen? I really wanted a Skyactiv since I daily drive this and the gas mileage is very good with the new engine compared to the MZR line up. Also I find the performance of the 2.0 Skyactiv is pretty close to the 2.5 MZR. As for condition of the car well it's actually in pretty good condition, as Canadian winters with the use of salt, cars rust in only a few years. 👍

WoW mate that rust is so stressy I live in NSW Australia It would take about 50 years to get that level of rust lol even when we get rain or floods its dry a day later its sad that you're country allow such a bad practice like salting the roads its not that it kills every tributary near buy the runoff stunts the local flora and fauna and the bull shite and cost to fixing or replacing your cars i feel frustration for you guys
