This is probably the best Zaha Hadid building. The curves are actually functional and the building doesn’t stand out too much from its surrounding context

We agree. Thankfully a number of the concepts and projects she was working on are now being delivered by her practice - Leeza SOHO being one of them.

It is actually pretty ugly to be honest. China passed laws against weird buildings. I am surprised this one got approved unless it was grandfathered in before the law went into effect. www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2016/03/chinas-weird-architecture/472590/

@Novusod

Nondescript cubes would also be banned under this law. Architecture should follow known standards that have been practiced for decades if not centuries based on golden ratios and proper aspect scales. Examples of fine architecture would be Empire state building or Chrysler building. The Leeza SOHO building in this video looks like someone plopped a giant soda can in the middle of the city. These pseudo futuristic buildings are nothing more than hideous eye sores.

for you. Tastes are a thing, and you *look like* the kind of obnoxious person who believe their taste are the only thing true so yes, i'm glad building like this are still constructed. however, and unlike you, i also respect your opinion. but for me, a world full of cubes or empire state/chrystler, as impressive as they are, would be very boring, quickly. That's why i still love NY, while i really enjoy other skyline around the globe that now how to diversify shapes.

Do videos or a video on cork city in Ireland there are a lot of construction projects planned. For the city and the city boundary is expanding. It is the 2nd largest natural harbour in the world and it is planned to be a counter balance to Dublin as all of Ireland’s investments in the past have gone to Dublin, but are now going into cork. Please do!!!

It doesn't look like there's much you really can do, based on looking around using Google Map. These are island buildings in a sea of cars. The neighborhood seems designed to discourage walking. It's like Brasilia and Chandigarh only on an even larger scale. Of course until they get their air pollution under control avoiding walking and biking is probably the healthy choice. But it's as sub-urban as the Apple headquarters.

I love how much billshit is in architecture. "this skyscraper is green because it has an atrium that twists to align with the east-west axis letting natural light in." Cool, you are saving energy on lighting. What about the Giant volume of air that you now have to heat/cool in that big ass atrium, very little of it is actually usable area. Very cool looking building, don't get me wrong. But damn, the marketing teams sure earn their pay cheques.

So why didn't they just build over the subway station like all other buildings in major cities? And to keep that atrium climate conditioned, it must require massive amounts of air movement, which takes massive energy no matter how efficient. A smaller atrium would be more efficient overall given all else equal.
