Ahh nice old school. No phones or mental music. Keep the flag flying boys, any clodagh Rogers in that repertoire

I almost always work alone, I don't miss the daft bosses and pissy mates. The banter and random bursting into song I do miss.

Enjoyed that. Non bricky here. How come it was a course a block then 3 course of brick then back to block? Is that just to get it upto dpc level so easier using brick? Or do you need to use a certain type of brick below dpc? Could you build with block straight from the footing? Cheers

Nice.but why you plum internal blockwork? I never did.just used a brick to measure it with keeps the cavity right it will eliminate all that picking up a level and your cavity will stay 100 mill.i never ever leveled block work that was going to be plastered or dry lined either just used my eyes and worked to the gauge of the outside work if thats right the inside will be right when you keep picking up a level you can pick up another block instead.but I spent my life on london sites working for animals who were never satisfied and always wanted more and more.im nearly 70 and I still get domestic extentions to build.most of the bricklayers I knew and worked with are long dead.dont smoke live longer.enjoy your work.have a nice day.
